Chemtrail Research Network – the Muck Is Canada Wide! No Place to Run – No Place to Hide
Posted by: | Comments

I was under the hopeful delusion that they were sparing the small towns across Canada. but after traveling to Medicine Hat Alberta, I see that the small towns are being attacked from every conceivable direction. They were spraying that place as much if not more than Montreal! On the only clear night of the whole time we there, under a velvet sky I could see very clearly, planes flying pretty low, delivering their mysterious muck. I could almost hear the nozzles hissing in the silent starry night. I witnessed a huge chembow around the moon which I will document in a later post.

While Asian Martial Arts have become very popular in the western world, many scientific circles do not take the study of the Martial Arts seriously as a topic of research. In some cases, they may suppose that current research efforts in aerobic and anaerobic exercise are sufficient. In other cases, they may believe that there is nothing to be gained by researching such an esoteric area, or that the research is difficult or impossible.
Still others may view the Martial Arts as a means to placate violence and object for reasons of conscience. Shaler remarks (as cited by Weiser and Kutz, 1995) that the Martial Arts are ” … naught but [a] killing present, anger past, and misery to come in the course of one who studies these arts.” Even so, Martial Arts are beginning to be understood and appreciated in the last 25 years in the west, primarily for the health and exercise benefits. Weiser and Kutz (1995) note “The Martial Arts (MAs) deserve recognition as worthy of being added to this list of therapeutic practices … and to the list of supplements to psychotherapy.” It is my intention to add “theoretical research” to this ever-expanding list of non-combat uses for the Martial Arts, specifically research into the cognitive aspects of Martial Arts.
Many studies point to the mental health benefits of Martial Arts, and the link between traditional (aerobic and anaerobic) exercise and Martial Arts has been noted. To assume that the sole utility in Martial Arts is the link with exercise would be errant since Martial Arts have “an additional and enhancing effect” (Weiser and Kutz, 1995). Further the Martial Arts are noteworthy because they not only do not produce immediate benefits, but they may actually increase anxiety before the benefits take effect (Weiser and Kutz, 1995). Weiser and Kutz (1995) also note that the literature “point[s] out the processes of MAs training … are similar to those of verbal psychotherapy” and that these similarities may be linked to the increase of anxiety during initial stages of training.
One of the problems surrounding study into the Martial Arts is the bewildering number of styles and the disparity of training methods. In my own case I have studied Judo, American Kenpo, Chen style Tai Chi, and I am currently studying Bujinkan Taijutsu. These arts are all distinctly different, both in methodologies and in philosophy – so how does one make a meaningful claim about “the Martial Arts”?
One way to do this is to study a particular portion of Martial Arts training, such as guided imagery, sparring, or weapons training. Cai (2000) did a study of Tai Chi that involved three groups. The first group studied self defense integrated with guided imagery, the second Tai Chi integrated with self-defense, and the control group studied only self-defense. In this study the first two groups “showed significantly lower anxiety and depression scores than the traditional single content program” (Cai, 2000). The study noted no significant difference between the guided imagery group and the Tai Chi group. This study shows an example of isolating specific portions of Martial Arts (in this case, guided imagery and Tai-Chi) and could be expanded on to study other specific portions of Martial Arts.
This is not the whole solution, however, as the whole can not be concluded to be solely the sum of it’s parts. In the end an exhaustive study of individual Martial Arts may be deemed necessary, however examining the pieces is a good place to start. If one finds significance in various pieces, then a good hypothesis would be that there is significance in the whole. If one finds no significance in the pieces, then a good hypothesis may be that the whole produces no scientific significance. While both hypotheses require testing, they are reasonable with sufficient evidence – of which the above study provides but one data point.
Most Martial Arts have a number of things in common. Kihon (“Basics”), Kata (“Forms”), and free response drills are all quite common among Martial Arts, but there are often philosophical similarities as well. Two of these philosophical similarities are Mushin and “Essence”. Mushin is often translated as “no mind”, or “empty mind” and refers to the state of mind one experiences where ones concentration is focused externally to the exclusion of “chatter” – the verbal thoughts that often fill our consciousness. Essence is much trickier concept for the martial artist, but for the psychologist there are echoes of cognitive theories. Many Martial Arts have an overriding philosophy that guides its core, and the Kata (“forms”) are said to be reflections of this “essence”. Once one knows the “essence” of the art, the Kata (“forms”) are no longer needed. Another concept in many Martial Arts is the Henka, or variation. A Henka is similar to a base form and is supposed to teach the same principles as the original.
Nearly every martial art has a ranking system, or some method of setting the beginner apart from the more experienced practitioner. While this is necessary for training progression, it is also convenient for research purposes as this makes the mental differences between the skill levels easier to track.
Another thing that is common among many Martial Arts is the desire to generalize what is learned in the training hall to life experiences other than combat. Vockell and Kwak (1990) give an analogy between chess masters and martial artists. They point out that many very good chess players are poor at academic skills, such as reading, writing, and arithmetic. This is not to say that they are not intelligent, but rather that they have not learned to generalize to life, where as others can see the similarities between chess and real life. “One member of the famous Royal Knights chess team recently stated, ‘Chess is like life. If you have a plan, you will make fewer mistakes than you will without a plan’” (Vockell & Kwak, 1990).
These commonalities give us a good place to start our investigations into the potential rewards for research into the cognitive aspects of Martial Arts. For the rest of this paper I would like to focus on the cognitive aspects of pattern matching, problem solving, prototype creatio n, perception, consciousness, and creativity.
The Martial Arts offer us a unique perspective to the pattern-matching problem. Some Kata (“forms”) have been designed for two or more participants and free sparring provides a unique perspective as well. During both of these exercises, the martial artist is forced to quickly determine a number of attributes about their partner, including such things as foot position, attitude, hand position, distancing, and so on. While I have seen a number of studies published on static pattern recognition, there are much fewer on moving pattern recognition, and even fewer on moving pattern recognition under stress. What differences are there between the three states? What differences are there when movement of the subject is involved? What are the effects of stress on pattern matching? What are the effects of pattern matching under stress while simultaneously undergoing movement?
Unfortunately the nature of these exercises limits the types of experimental data that can be gathered. Some methods, such as the MRI require the subject to be immobile, while others require the subject to wear expensive equipment that can be easily dislodged by vigorous activity. However technological advances may assist in this area once a need is shown. Eye tracking, for instance, has made tremendous advances. A safe device can now be created to do eye tracking on a moving subject, and this can be used to determine the visual aspects of pattern matching of the martial artist. How does eye movement differ between expert martial artists and novices? What can this tell us about pattern matching under stress?
Henka (“variation”) are another potential area of pattern matching research – one which is much easier to deal with. The concept behind Henka is that it similar in principle to a Kata (“form”), but with visual dissimilarities. Interesting questions can then be posed such as “what is the accuracy rate of various practitioners in determining the base Kata from a Henka? How long does it take? How does this compare between various skill levels? How does this compare to standard visual pattern matching tasks? Is there a link between visual pattern matching efficacy and motion pattern matching efficacy?” The last question is, perhaps, the most interesting one.
Problem solving is also another area of potential research. Solso (2001, p. 452) defines problem solving as “thinking that is directed toward the solving of a specific problem that involves both the formation of responses and the selection among possible responses.” In the case of Martial Arts both free response exercises and multi-person forms may provide an interesting window into the subject, though free response exercises would seem to be the most promising. In free response exercises, there are at least two problems present: “how do I keep my opponent from defeating me?” and “how do I defeat them?”
Martial artists typically have a number of responses to choose from as well, including striking, grappling, and exotic moves. The question of what goes into a successful problem response under these conditions is interesting, as is the nature of the solution and the conditions that it was derived under. Typically, there is a very small window of time, and the solution must be determined and executed within that window. Also it is generally expected that the solution is will be arrived at while in a Mushin (“chatterless”) state. In typical problem solving examples (c.f. Solso, 2001, ch. 15) the verbal thoughts are important to the solution. How is the problem solving process different when verbal thoughts are limited or disallowed completely? Given the parameters of the exercise, one may hypothesize that the process will be different, but what if it isn’t? What does that say about our problem solving process? What would it say if it was different?
Another interesting possibility for research is the concept of prototype formation. What does it mean when we claim that a particular technique looks like a “Koto Ryu” technique? Does practicing Kata (“forms”) in a certain manner create a prototype of a successful response? Is this the same as what the martial artists call “essence”? Is there a link between static visual prototype formation (such as learning faces) and prototyping the “essence” of an art?
Solso (2001, 132) holds that a “prototype is an abstraction of a set of stimuli that embodies many similar forms of the same pattern.” That Martial Arts training produces a wide variety of stimuli would generally not be disputed, so the question then is whether learning the Kata (“forms”) and then testing them with free response could be related to, or the same as, prototype formation.
Typically prototype matching is considered to be part of the “pattern matching” field, but what if one hypothesizes that the prototyping structures within the body-mind are available for other functions as well – such as problem solving? Would this give rise to being able to generalize more efficiently between the Martial Arts and real life?
One may also wonder about generalizing other portions of pattern matching, such as gestalt theory, canonic perspectives, and feature analysis. Indeed, an alternate translation of Kata is “pattern”, so one may wonder how much of a link there is between Kata and pattern matching. Are Kata related to “cano nic perspectives”? Is feature analysis an important part of the learning process?
Solso (2001, p. 138 – 39) notes that a study done by Chase and Simon on chess players discovered that the master chess players were able to “see chunks, or meaningful clusters, of chess pieces [that] made it possible for the better players to gather more information in the given time.” One could easily do a similar study with Martial Arts Kata (“patterns”) that would attempt to determine chunking of data among various martial artists’ experience levels.
Perception is another interesting topic that could be applied to the Martial Arts. One question dealing with perception is whether Martial Arts training improves the recognition of sensory signals in a meaningful way. That is, does training in Martial Arts allow one to more easily integrate the several sensory perception for more of a “total picture”? I had several experiences where someone told me that I “paid attention” better after a short period of Martial Arts training. While an interesting proposition, it nonetheless a single data point. If the training does provide training in perception as well, then why does it do so? Is this similar to dance and athletics, or different?
There are other interesting questions as well, though some will likely never be studied. Within the Bujinkan the test for Godan (“fifth degree black belt”, full instructor level) is well known. The person being tested kneels in front of Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi, the current lineage head, with his or her back to Dr. Hatsumi and their eyes closed. Dr. Hatsumi has a bamboo shinai (split training sword) that he raises over his head. At some random point he strikes at the head of the person in front of him with full force. The test is successful if the person being tested gets out of the sword’s way without getting hit.
That this phenomenon occurs cannot be seriously doubted – the test has been given more than a thousand times. And while there is much public debate (within the organization at any rate) as to the “how”, no definitive answer has been proffered. How this occurs is an interesting question that involves perception. Assuming that one discounts mystical explanations, one is left with only some sort of “subliminal perception”. How one would test this is beyond my current knowledge, however, but it may be an interesting problem to find a testable hypothesis for this situation.
Consciousness is another potential, though troublesome, area of research within the Martial Arts. Consciousness research would overlap perception research somewhat as well. Solso (2001, p. 144) defines consciousness as “the awareness of environmental and cognitive events such as the sights and sounds of the world as well as one’s memories, thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations.” The awareness portion would be tested in the same way as one would test perception, but what of the rest of Solso’s definition?
Within many Martial Arts is the concept of Mushin, a state involving “chatterless” concentration. How is this state different than our normal self-talk? Is this state different? Fortunately, movement is not necessary for this state to be entered, though that is an interesting question in itself. A study that compares Mushin with meditative and standard self-talk states could be revealing. Does Mushin change with movement? Is it identical to a standard meditative state? If so, much can be gleaned from the study of both meditative states. If this state is not different than a meditative state then what are the relevant differences? While thoughts would be missing, what feelings, memories, and bodily sensations would be present? What of “pictorial thoughts” (flashes of imagery that convey deep, symbolic meaning in an instantaneous manner)? Are these more common than linguistic thoughts when one enters Mushin?
Creativity can also be studied with Martial Arts, though creativity in general is somewhat problematic to study. Solso (2001, p. 462) defines creativity as “a cognitive activity that results in a new or novel way of viewing a problem or situation.” Solso (2001, p. 462) further describes the current model of creativity as a four stage process involving 1) Preparation, 2) Incubation, 3) Illumination, and 4) Verification. He also notes “empirical evidence … is almost nonexistent” (Solso, 2001, p. 462). Does creative response within Martial Arts follow these four steps?
It is possible, however the steps would be very compact. Are the Martial Arts creative? Intuitively we may say “yes”, but what model of creativity would we use? Incubation would be the problematic step – how does one incubate in such a short period of time? Further, we could ask if the Martial Arts enhance or hinder creativity? One can design an experiment of the latter problem fairly easily by comparing a control group of non-martial artists with a group of martial artists in a test of physical and mental creativity. One might expect more physical creativity and similar mental creativity, however these results cannot be guaranteed. Does physical creativity translate into mental creativity? How about the other way around?
The list that I have presented is not complete, and I expect that many more possibilities for theoretical research could be found. For instance Solso (2001, p. 479) mentions a test of general intelligence involving a subject group learning to play the game “Tetris”. In this case the Glucose Metabolic Rates (GMR) were compared both before and after a period of training. It was discovered that even though they had improved “sevenfold”, the GMR actually decreased significantly. One may ask after reading this study what would we would discover by testing the GMR of different skill levels of martial artists.
General research into human intelligence is also possible. Solso (2001, 469) notes that human intelligence includes at least the following abilities: to classify patterns, to reason deductively, to modify behavior adaptively, to reason deductively, to reason inductively – to generalize, to develop and use conceptual models, to understand. The martial artist utilizes each of these abilities in his or her training. From the ability to classify patterns (Kata) to the ability to modify behavior adaptively (free response drills) each of them are used to some extent and, generally, in a unique fashion.
Research into the psychological aspects of Martial Arts is becoming more popular, though at this point the literature seems to be focusing on the application of Martial Arts to therapy and various social and historical aspects. Literature has noted the similarities of studying Martial Arts to psychotherapy and has suggested that both therapist and client can utilize Martial Arts for a more productive relationship.
For these reasons I have proposed that Martial Arts can be the subject of pure research as well, focusing on the topic of Cognitive Psychology. I have shown possible links between prototype formation and “essence” of a given martial art, and the relation of human intelligence to the Martial Arts. Pattern matching, problem solving, perception, and consciousness were also covered with the hope that the reader will understand some possibilities of research into cognitive aspects of Martial Arts, with the potential of discovering their own paths of research as well.
This paper did not, and cannot, present a comprehensive treatment of the psychological aspects of the Martial Arts. If the reader wishes to offer constructive criticism or exchange further information, the author can be reached at kengifirbrom@yahoo.com. Villaris Self Defense Centers

Scientific Research Studies on Spiritual Science and Philosophy
Posted by: | CommentsToday’s era predominates with a high intellect. Every aspect of our life is fully influenced by the modern scientific principle of proof and sound logic. As a result world humanity requires both proof and logic as far as philosophy is concerned too. Only after testing it thus will they deign to accept its usefulness. Truth and Reality will be imbibed only after it is tested via logic and scientific proof. This insistence of ‘proof’ has greatly challenged the very existence of Spiritual Sciences. Man’s glory and social arrangement has its roots in high leveled faith that encompasses both sacred ideals and principles. Sheer intellectualism with its emphasis on direct proof has truly harmed man’s faith potential. Logic and proof says that faith is ‘blind’. Hence today’s need of the hour is to test Spiritual Values like faith, trust, ideals etc on the basis of scientific logic and principles along with its utility and proof of its very existence. For this those very scientific research need to be deployed which are today being used by Modern Material Science.
Today everyone fully accepts the importance of Material Science. Its utility and importance have always remained in vogue because it tests itself on the basis of logic, experimentation and research. In addition to this it never wavers when it is required to give up beliefs that are not scientifically sound and rational. Of course it is a well known fact that scientific findings do tend to change every now and then. If for the first time some proof is found it is not necessary that it will remain eternally correct. This is because when newer discoveries and inventions unfold the previous conclusions are renounced. Thus scientific findings at a particular point in time are accepted as true only until new findings later disprove their veracity. Hence the previous finding henceforth does not hold true as it did previously. It is this yearning for truth that helps Modern Science retain its importance and utility.
The attainments of Spiritual Science are infinitely more than those of Material Science. Hence its importance too is n-fold more than modern science. Thus it is most required that greater attention be paid to it. Since in ancient times Spiritual Science was given a lot of importance man’s overall glory too reached high peaks. But later the more man’s soul force weakened the more he headed towards both a material and spiritual degradation. Hence if we wish to herald in a radiant future in the 21st century optimum usage of soul principles are the need of the hour. Thus keeping this in mind it is most required that Spiritual Sciences be researched in a modern scientific manner and place them in front of all so as to imbibe them in their pristine purity.
It is Spiritual Philosophy that is the foundation stone of human thought/viewpoint. It is the very life force of spirituality. Man’s wholesome thinking or otherwise is totally dependent on the beliefs of social norm that are in vogue at a particular time. The basis of high leveled thought flow during the Rishi Era was Spiritual Philosophy that was in vogue. It ceaselessly inspired human beings to strive for supremacy as far as wholesome thought and activity was concerned. As a result heavenly situations manifested and divinely human beings took birth. Serious questions regarding the soul, God’s existence, God’s glory, fruits of ones past/present/future actions, creation of this world and the aim behind it can only be answered by Spiritual Philosophy.
During varying times and circumstances great Rishis of yore gave us philosophical tenets to suit those times and requirements. As long as the Rishi Yuga existed, this tradition continued thus creating heavenly situations for world beings. But later during the Middle Age a fairly long time span of darkness and gloom prevailed. Since in this dark period unruliness and anarchy took over philosophy, righteousness and spirituality were totally ignored by one and all. During such dire times it is most required that one is alert enough to gauge what is apt and what is not apt. Thus we should develop an intellect which leans towards research so as to understand what is true and what is its day to day usefulness.
Ancient and very useful spiritual principles need to be put forth to world humanity in such a way wherein there remains no room for doubt as far as its utility and veracity is concerned especially in today’s Jet Age.
Great Rishis elucidated various behavioral depending on each circumstance and its requirement. Smritis clearly depict such differences in norms laid down. The different norms laid down by great seers during various points in world history were not because there was hatred, differences etc amongst these seers. In fact they were forced to lay down different social norms simply because the requirements during various phases of world history required specific norms for each and every phase.
The basis of past progress, analysis of downfall and goal setting for the future is an intellect which yearns for facts and reality. In spiritual parlance it is called Ritambhara. According to Brahman scriptures this is what Prajapati says while elucidating Divine Wisdom or Self Realization: When during cosmic annihilation (Pralaya) everything in this world is destroyed at that time too one Rishi remains alive to reveal the truth. His name is ‘Tarka’. Over here Tarka is not some dry and superficial argument but it is a divine intellect full of profound wisdom. It is with its help that one can attain Self Realization. An intellect that is open to accept truth shies away from prejudiced fanatical beliefs. The wheel of time is such that situations faced by us all are bound to change again and again. And it is because of this that the methods of solving various problems too change when situations change. No doubt we revere saints and seers of the past and the spiritual endeavors demarcated by them. And yet it is not necessary that these endeavors can help in today’s times since situations of those times and today differ a great deal. Hence it is most required that spiritual practices of those times that can be used today be imbibed wholeheartedly and renounce those which are not suitable for modern times (but were apt for past times).
As mentioned previously in the Middle Age of darkness and ignorance a lot of distortions plagued the spiritual arena. Such disparity was seen in the principles, methods and social execution of Spiritual Philosophy that even a common thinking intellect would refuse to trust its veracity and utility. In the dark Middle Age sacred scriptures got ‘adulterated’ so as to say. This resulted in the degradation of the lives of so called religious and spiritual “leaders”. Thus majority of world humanity rightly refused to trust them and follow in their footsteps.
There was a time many centuries back when Rishis’ speech and the sacred gospel of our scriptures were thought to be beyond doubt. Today because intellectualism and logic/proof is the in thing, scriptural precepts will not be gulped down solely on the basis of faith. The philosophy of faith can only be reinstated today on the firm foundation of its utility, proof and veracity. Today the need of the hour is that the principles and day to day execution of Spiritual Science be put forth in a form that is wholesome and acceptable to this present generation of the Computer Age. Those very spiritual tenets faithfully and wholeheartedly imbibed by seers of yore must be presented today in a manner that is acceptable to the highly intellectual human beings of modern times. The gist of the teachings of great thinkers and sages of ancient times is unanimous wherein human beings love each other selflessly, imbibe the wealth of sacred thinking, grow the flowers of wholesome actions and develop a great character. How will al this happen? The answer is one without a second and that is faith towards Spiritual Sciences be imbibed deeply in ones psyche.
For this a 2-pronged effort has been designed wherein distortions that have entered Spiritual Science are being rooted out and to prove with sound scientific arguments the futility to pursue materialism that does not have a firm substratum of spiritual values. For this in the gigantic library of the Brahmavarchas Research Institute’s highly experienced scholars are re-analyzing every religious scripture in a scientific manner. Every scripture is scrutinized minutely for its useful tenets and without any prejudice or bias renounce all precepts that are not useful/applicable in today’s 21st century. We must have deep faith that just as when the mythological churning of the ocean took place and 14 jewels emerged from it so too our scientific research will definitely unearth those spiritual jewels that will be acceptable the world over.
It is also the need of the hour to combat the rat race like material pursuits (one could say it is a by product of Modern Science) devoid of spiritual and human values. The very foundation of ethics has been shattered because of laying emphasis solely on direct visible proof and material utility. Die hard materialists refuse to accept the existence of the soul and God. As a result the attitude of ‘why even deign to think about good deeds/merits, spiritual goals, renunciation, sacrifice etc’? Charvak said: Rinam Kritvaa Gridham Pibait. It means keep borrowing money and thus eat, drink and be merry. He also said: Yena Kena Prakaarena, Yaavajjeevait Sukham Jeevait. It means beg, borrow or steal and continue to live a life of sense merriment. If one looks around and analyzes the life style of the highly materialistic intellectual class it certainly appears as though they are hell bent on proving Charvak right. When scientific research proves everything on the basis of proof collected from ones sense organs, mind and intellect why should not life’s philosophy be erected on the foundation stone of selfishness? The results of such erroneous thinking stares starkly in our face wherein every area of our life predominates with narrow minded selfishness, lack of magnanimity and generosity and hard heartedness. There is no other cause for this apart from our lack of faith in the importance of spiritual values and tenets. How can it be warded off? The answer is unanimous in that faith in spiritual values must be reinstated in the psyche of world humanity on a firm footing. And this is possible only by imbibing the sacred precepts of Spiritual Sciences.
Spirituality can be imbued with new vigor only by 1) destroying distortions that have entered spirituality and 2) reinstating the philosophy of aspiring for greatness which is being ignored today by those who pursue rank materialism devoid of spiritual and human values. It is hence that the gigantic Research Institute called Brahmavarchas has been established. The highly intellectual class of this Computer Age can only be convinced by giving philosophical answers to philosophy, scientific answers to science and logical answers to logic. Atheism is ruling the roost today simply because spiritual principles have not been presented via sound scientific proof and logic. One can safely say that Modern Sciences’ principles that rely on proof only is not the major cause of people scoffing the existence of the soul, God, fruits of ones actions, spiritual goals etc. Instead the root cause is that till today we have failed to present Spiritual Sciences laced with ample scientific proof and logic.
In order to fulfill this all important goal Brahmavarchas Research Institute has been set up as a all round centre of scientific research. No doubt our beginning is dwarfish yet the potential of it becoming gigantic and all pervasive is very high. We have sown a powerful seed and without doubt it is not the end. It is a gigantic task to test Spiritual Science’s principle on the basis of sound scientific logic and proof. And hence gigantic means that include a well equipped high profiled laboratory are most required. Over here there are 2 options. The first one wherein wait for high leveled means and then start research activities. The second is make-do with the limited means available at present and commence research studies on a war like footing. We realized that it is not possible to stop research just because all the required means are not available. A delay would mean not helping in the obstruction of world humanity’s imminent spiritual and material downfall. Hence it is important that without delay we prove the authentic nature of spiritual values via scientific research and only then will the highly intellectual class of the world accept it and imbibe it to the fullest. Brahmavarchas Research Institute’s wheels are on a roll and the train of research studies has started moving slowly but surely.
Research studies have 2 aspects viz. literature based research and experimentation in a well equipped laboratory. A gigantic collection of literature in our high profile library that includes religions of all nations of the world, books of great thinkers and philosophers of the world covering areas of Science, Philosophy, Psychology, Parapsychology, Sociology etc will help fulfill our requirement of scientific as well as a philosophic method of scientific analysis. Further spiritual practices will be scientifically tested in our laboratory that is equipped with advanced scientific apparatus and technology. We are analyzing the effect of Mantras, Japa and Yajna on human beings, other creatures and plants. It is no secret that today man’s bodily, mental and spiritual health is fast deteriorating. Various medical therapies like Allopathy, Homeopathy and Ayurveda are not weeding out diseases from their very roots. Under such dire circumstances what is required is that we unearth a mode of therapy which gives us sound bodily, mental and spiritual health for keeps.
The Science of Yajna or Yajnopathy is being given a firm and strong foundation. We are constantly in touch with well known scientists and medical specialists so as to reap rich dividends from our research. We must all have faith that in the near future Yajnopathy will bloom forth in its total healthy and all encompassing form. Thus it will serve entire world humanity both materially and spiritually.
Literature based research study has many aspects. And yet chief amongst them are Science and Philosophy. This era demands that spiritual and human values be given prime importance. Hence 4 main topics with reference to them have been taken up for research studies. They are: 1) Inter Faith Understanding and Equality, 2) Cosmic Consciousness and Cosmic Nature, 3) Science of True Thinking and 4) Yajna based therapy. In the subsequent phase of our research other topics too will be studied minutely.
1) Inter Faith Understanding and Equality: In order that every world religion is given utmost honor and respect 14 golden aphorisms have been elucidated that are accepted by all religions. They will encompass the religious discourses, rites/rituals and traditions of religions like Hinduism, Islam, Sikhism, Parsi, Christianity, Jainism, Buddhism, Jew and Taoism. In order to make individuals and world society great and pious in character ethics, human/spiritual values, discipline and wholesome social behavior have been taken up for study purposes.
2) Cosmic Consciousness and Cosmic Nature: We are deeply studying material nature, the subtle atom, special qualities of the gigantic cosmos and the mysterious layers of human (microcosm) and cosmic (macrocosm) consciousness. Serious research is being carried out into the scientific basis of the awakening of Extrasensory Potential (ESP). In addition the question of how could one ‘contact’ cosmic consciousness and imbibe their Divine Powers is being researched into. Within this topic the various branches of Modern Science are being studied and on its basis soul scientific principles will be put forth.
3) Science of True Thinking: All those principles and theories of Psychology and Philosophy are being studied deeply that are strongly related to man’s very thinking process. The Science of Thinking includes research studies on reflection, faith, trust, sensitivity etc that designs man’s inner personality and character. A psychological study of devotion, meditation, prayer and mental focus/concentration too has been taken up by us.
4) Yajna based therapy: It encompasses the scientific application and utility of Yajna, its influence on our body and psyche and what is its philosophical basis.
We must imbibe deep faith that soul based principles stand on the firm foundation of spirituality. In addition they are omnipotent enough to ward off all attacks made by atheistic units. What can we achieve by ‘defeating’ that path which has yet to be imbibed totally and which yet has no followers or propagators? In the court of intellectualism theism tasted defeat simply because theistic propagators did not take up the challenges thrown by their modern intellectual counterparts and instead insisted on saving theism with the slogan: Have faith in God! If only they had answered logic with counter logic, precepts with counter precepts, proof with counter proof etc theism would have succeeded in defeating hard core intellectuals in their own court. But alas this was not to be and theism was relegated to an ethical downfall and psychic inertia. This is the reason why Spiritual Science over the years beat a hasty retreat to its downfall. And yet there is no need to despair because today scientific research on Spiritual Sciences will help regain eternally its lost glory.
In reality Spiritual Principles are such that the basis of human joy, peace, progress and prosperity remain on a solid footing. The problem is only one wherein the complexity of what is true and false is so enormous that it is very difficult to understand the true meaning of their precepts along with its application in day to day life. Gold is purified via a blazing fire. Similarly spiritual teachings too will be heated in such a manner so as to transform them into that form which can be understood easily by even a layman and thus will be conducive to imbibe in ones daily professional, social etc life. The probability to achieve this goal via a positive transformation of Spiritual Philosophy indeed is very high. We must have faith via the research endeavor of Brahmavarchas Research Institute that all encompassing form of Spiritual Philosophy will be presented to the world wherein there will be no room for differences and doubts. Only modern scientific research can ward off obstacles faced by theism and reinstating of spiritual values in our day to day life. Only those principles that are heated in the furnace of research and tested for sound proof and logic will prove to be true and useful both materially and spiritually. Without this the highly intellectual class of the world cannot be wooed to imbibe spiritual tenets.

Humana Names Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center as 0,000 Winner of 2009 Arizona Benefits Grant
By: chris walker
Posted: Nov 03, 2009
The Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC), a non-profit working to
advance research and provide support for individuals with autism and their
families, has been awarded a 0,000 grant as the winner of the 2009 Arizona
Benefits grant, funded by health benefits company Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM).
Mark El-Tawil, president of Humana of Arizona, named SARRC as the winner of the
grant during the Arizona Benefits Celebration of Giving dinner Thursday, Oct.
22, at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort. Two other finalists for the award – The
Phoenix Public Library Foundation and Sun Cities Area Transit System Inc. – each
received a ,000 grant from Humana.
With the 0,000 award, SARRC will create GardenWorks, a community-based
program designed to engage individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) in
developing and sustaining a revenue-producing co-op garden.
“A diagnosis of autism is made in the United States every 20 minutes, and the
number of children expected to need extensive adult services over the next 15
years exceeds 380,000, which is roughly equal to the populations of Tempe, Yuma,
Flagstaff and Payson combined,” said Jeri Kendle, Executive Director of SARRC.

“Clearly there is a great need for the kind of training and mentoring
GardenWorks will provide for individuals with autism spectrum disorders.”
Kendle said the grant from Humana will provide needed resources for the SARRC to
implement the GardenWorks program, allowing the non-profit to involve the
community in a program to benefit individuals with ASDs. By developing a co-op
garden, SARRC will teach those with ASDs gardening and landscaping skills they
can use to work toward financial independence, while community members will be
encouraged to mentor individuals with ASDs to help them grow, harvest and sell
their products.
“Going into the third year of this program, Humana is committed to continuing to
give back to the communities we serve through programs like Arizona Benefits,”
said El-Tawil. “To help an organization like the SARRC find a solution to a
community need and grow in a way they might not have thought possible is the
heart of what this program is all about. We`re honored to be able to work with
the SARRC to help those with autism spectrum disorders learn valuable life
skills while raising healthy crops.”
The community judges choosing the recipient of the 0,000 grant included Jacob
Brown, Willis Insurance; Paul Dolby, Circle K; Marcie Cragg, The Gavin Group;
Rhonda Forsyth, John C. Lincoln Health Network; Tom Leander, Phoenix Suns; Peggy
Neely, District 2 Councilwoman for the City of Phoenix; David Strachan, Desert
Schools Federal Credit Union; and Cheryl Vogt, Marsh. Humana representatives on
the panel of judges included El-Tawil, president of Humana of Arizona; Steve
Macias, practice leader; Jennifer Willis, practice leader; and Jeff Chicots,
regional vice president.
Humana`s Arizona Benefits program awards a one-time, 0,000 grant to a
Maricopa County-based 501(c)(3) organization working to improve the mind, body
and spirit of residents. Fresh Start Women`s Foundation, a non-profit
organization dedicated to helping women help themselves, won the 2008 0,000
award, enabling the organization to open a satellite center for women in the
East Valley. Mesa Association of Sports for the Disabled, a non-profit that
supports athletic programs for disabled athletes, used the 2007 0,000 award
to purchase a truck and trailer that allowed it to increase the quality and
quantity of events for participating athletes.

Spiritual Research on the Spiritual Life of Nostradamus
Posted by: | CommentsThis article provides a spiritual perspective on the life of the famous seer Nostradamus. Spiritual research has shown that the spiritual purpose of his life was to overcome his attachment to supernatural powers that he had gained through many lifetimes of spiritual practice. Due to a desire for fame and an intense fascination for his supernatural powers, he lost track of the spiritual purpose of his life on Earth.
Michel de Nostredame (1503 – 66), popularly known as Nostradamus, was one of the world’s most famous seers. His prophecies, 500 years into his future and into our current times have captivated the whole world. The Spiritual Science Research Foundation (SSRF) conducted spiritual research on the spiritual life of Nostradamus that contributed to his extraordinary gift. The contents of this article have been obtained through the medium of an advanced sixth sense (ESP).
In all cases where a person has psychic abilities or is able to look into the future, it is generally a gift due to past-birth spiritual practice. How we use this gift can influence our spiritual journey and the region we go to after death.
Spiritual research on the reasons for Nostradamus’ gift
Before his life on Earth, he had done spiritual practice in the subtle region of Heaven (Swargaloka). Because of this spiritual practice, Nostradamus obtained two types of supernatural powers:
1. Supernatural power of vision i.e. he could see visions of what was to happen in the future.
2. Supernatural power of speech i.e. he could verbalise what was seen or heard through the subtle and it would come true.
Spiritual research on the reason for Nostradamus’ birth
People who have supernatural powers generally tend to use them for worldly reasons either for self or for society. According to Spiritual science, use of supernatural powers to orchestrate any fulfilment of worldly desires for people or to gain popularity can have negative effects on the person’s spiritual growth. It is for this reason that people who have supernatural powers are advised to use their powers for their further spiritual practice towards God-realisation and only under the guidance of a spiritually evolved guide (Guru). A Guru directs the student to utilise his spiritual powers towards realising God.
Nostradamus had to be born on Earth to rid himself of the sway/hold that his supernatural powers had over him. His spiritual goal was to obtain guidance about practicing Spirituality to continue his onward spiritual journey into the further positive regions.
Spiritual research on the life of Nostradamus from a spiritual perspective
Through the medium of his supernatural powers, Nostradamus made many accurate predictions. Many times, he would clearly hear or see the future through the medium of sound or visions. In the beginning of his career, three divine beings from the higher subtle regions would guide him. They did this through the medium of Nostradamus’ supernatural power of vision.
Over the years, Nostradamus became over ambitious and invested a lot of time in his gift of seeing the future. He would receive prior intimation of many events through his divine supernatural powers. As he would disclose what he saw, people would come to know of future perils and take measures to protect themselves against them. This infuriated the ghosts, as their plans to create problems for people would be foiled.
Spiritual research indicates that his personal life was steeped in internal sorrow, which the people around him may not have been aware of. In the beginning, by virtue of his supernatural power of vision, Nostradamus would receive knowledge through visions/scenes. Over time, he got carried away with his fame and the accolades of people.
This defect in his personality weakened him spiritually. Nostradamus used his wilful action (free will) to get further entrenched in his fascination for supernatural powers and his fame. As a result, he deprived himself of further spiritual practice on Earth. The effect of ghosts (demons, devils, negative energies etc.) only made matters worse. Slowly the stores of his spiritual practice from his previous lifetimes were depleted. In short, instead of using his time on Earth to do spiritual practice and attain a higher positive region, he regressed from the subtle region of Heaven to the subtle region of the Nether world after his life on Earth.

Research Summation Antediluvian Calendar

Research Summation Antediluvian Calendar
The Jewish Calendar measures time since the beginning of recorded chronology. Basic Antediluvian Calendar concepts of 19 or 20-year-lunar/solar-cycles succeed to branch many times over literally thousands of years. Minor changes, modifications and intercalations have caused slight variations in the Jewish lunar/solar calendar since the earliest days of Creation. Original applications of the antediluvian first calendar focus upon heavenly transitions of light and darkness. Daylight and nighttime, lunar phases, planetary visibility and starlight position all mark the cusp points of change for early time. Authentic celestial cycles do not perfectly align to satisfy calendar increments. Beyond one single year, the 19-year-l/s-cycle was the most important cyclic pattern known to archeo-astronomy. People are compelled to adjust calendars using approximations. Diligent observation and proper documentation agree that 19-year-l/s-cycles afforded by the Jewish Calendar are the consistent standard for early reckoning.
Substantial calendar foundations submitted by the Patriarchal ages of Genesis 5 provide remnant traces that identify with other ancient l/s systems. Mesoamerican and Egyptian calendars lend insight relating important natural events with time. Diffused in mythology, these accounts enable the groundwork for all later time. Surviving records indicate a preferred style for logging nocturnal phenomena. Dynastic order sustains the lineage by passing the inheritance blessing from father to first-born son. A 364-day-Ethiopic-year and 8-year Venusian cycles are taken aside from the traditional Jewish Calendar to elaborate the calendar theme. Intercalations and other correction methods are necessary given the human factor. Inherently attached to Bible time reckoning is the supernatural, spiritual component. Gaps and seams of time begin to widen with increasing measurement errors. Modern time and our ensuing chronology rest in many ways, upon ideal calculations. Ancient projections toward the future and our current time meet with modern discrepancies that regress until early history. Calendar branching is often the catalyst to major civil upheavals. Religion and governmental rule compromise to manage the social climate. While other civilizations, kings and dynasties, and empires, rose and fell, the Jewish Calendar was consistent in basic format. Stretching into the past perhaps a hundred thousand years, the separation between day and night and the sacred seven-day week were co-eternal with God. Names for God and the eternal Holy Spirit have undergone countless changes since the origins of humanity.
The Jewish antediluvian calendar version measured time when Adam walked the face of earth. When Noah built the Ark, the Jewish Calendar was in effect. When Pharaohs ruled Egypt and the pyramids were constructed, the Jewish Calendar was in use. When Moses parted the Red Sea, and the banner of God was brought forth, the Jewish Calendar was continuous. Christ came between the Egyptian – Roman solar calendar change about 45 B.C.E. until A.D. and the Jewish lunar/solar calendar recorded New Testament events. When the First Council of Nicaea met in 325 A.D. to decide the fate of Christianity for the empire of Constantine, the Jewish Calendar was in effect. Even today, the Jewish Calendar is current. The intangible, omnipotent deity has existed since the beginning. Be they people of any other calendar, lunar/solar or solar, or other branches, the Jewish Calendar has surpassed and held Jewish people together.
Consider one aspect in the hopes, spiritual aspirations and destiny of humanity. The major precedent afflicting people who have called forth Almighty power respects the faith and religion behind Judaism. Other cultures have branched and veered away from the Jewish Calendar. Pieces of the Jewish Calendar and the religion have transmuted to external concerns. The sacred seven-day week is fundamental to Christianity, but early church fathers abandoned 19 or 20-year-l/s-cycles. The Sun Kingdoms adapted the original Jewish lunar/solar version of calendar trunk line to their civilization, but developed their own style of religion. Other groups have used lunar/solar calendars, and have met difficulty and strife since their calendars were branches of the antediluvian Jewish lunar/solar calendar trunk line. Only Judaism fosters the pure Jewish Calendar. No other culture uses the Jewish Calendar.
Roman Catholicism coupled with the Julian Calendar spread the word of Christianity throughout the world. In 1582, the Julian Calendar was modified by Pope Gregory XIII. Calendar reckoning excluded ten days to align the vernal equinox with Easter celebration. October 4, 1582 was followed the next day by October 15, 1582. Trends during medieval era Protestantism were fueled by the Gregorian Calendar modification. Apparitions of the Virgin Mary, the inquisition and the turmoil in Europe caused by Protestantism all were manifestations of the Holy Spirit pouring out to past and future. The calendar change again punctured the outer insulation offered by the solar calendar and the eternal realm of God responded. Further proclaimed in the Gregorian Calendar was a Leap Day alteration. The previous Julian Calendar included a Leap Day addition every four years. The vernal spring, celestial equinox was slipping into summer. The Leap Day addition modified the end of February. The Gregorian Calendar adjustment stipulated that Leap Day additions would be omitted in those centurial years not evenly divisible by 400-years. The year 1600 included a normal Leap Day. The years 1700, 1800 and 1900 skipped the Leap Day inclusion that further corrected the gradual drift of the equinox date into summer. Our revised Gregorian Calendar incorporated a provision to add Leap Day in the year 2000.
Superimposing the Gregorian Calendar over past calendars, striking contrasts can be drawn. Day and night, count as one day from the beginning until now. Judaism observes the Sabbath on Saturday and Christians recognize a Sunday Sabbath. Five days remain in the week for work, business and commerce. Sun Kingdoms Calendars include many cultural variations of the representative 260-day-Tzolken-sacred-year. We evenly disperse 260-days separately in the modern calendar year. Five business days multiply in 52-weeks for 260-days. Our secular calendar applies 260-days for modern government and commercial matters, excluding holidays. Saturday and Sunday of each week multiply for 104-days in 52-weeks. Compared to the 364-day-Ethiopic-calendar, 104-days nearly equal the remaining 105-days left every year. Twelve months averaged at 30-days each still provide 360-days. Although a separate 360-day length of year is not present in the Gregorian solar calendar, science and technology perpetuate the 360-degree circle. Our last week of the year, between Christmas and New Years is a reserved holiday week. Countless anniversaries recognize every conceivable subject in substitution for ancient numerical matching themes. Pharaonic Egypt inserted Leap Days every four years. We continue this trait in the Gregorian Calendar. The Antediluvian Calendar incorporates 400-year-l/s-cycles I synonymously refer to as Mayan Baktun cycles. Our modern Gregorian version follows a 400-year pattern that omits three of four Leap Days during centurial years. Time itself has not changed, only the methods of calendar layers are different. The tree of knowledge grows, the days and years change according to the calendar version and the domain of humanity is forever.
All calendars support devotion to mainstay religious convictions and central doctrines prescribed by worship. Dogmatic beliefs rigidly embed in the calendar as holidays and festival periods. Reserved times continue to defer ordinary work. Understanding ancient calendar systems and characteristics found in later calendars expand faith perspectives. Common thought today reasons that measured time is always past tense. Archaic calendars additionally held theology that influences the future through distant time projection. We observe holidays and anniversaries to remember the past, whereas ancient people employed numerical matching techniques to collapse the future and access supernatural channels. They worked the fields and waited patiently for crops to grow. Our remaining calendar year transfers the need to circulate wealth. Society depends on national and local governments for stability, commerce for financial operations and families to nurture the children. Diverse culture, ethnic background and political structure blend simultaneously. The modern calendar must meet demands on a global scale. Religious trends maintain special variations of the calendar year. The best example of differing calendar systems that represent an international situation occurs in the holiest of cities, Jerusalem. The front page of the Jerusalem Post International Edition newspaper contains three dates of three calendars under the title. The western Gregorian Calendar date is given first, followed by the Jewish Calendar date and the Mohammedan (Islamic) Calendar date. Three religions and three separate versions of history combine every day.
Revelation 3:12
“… and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: …”

Research Report on Chinese Rare Earth Industry, 2010-2011
Posted by: | Commentswww.shcri.com – Rare earth (RE) elements are a collection of seventeen chemical elements in the periodic table of the chemical elements, namely lanthanum (La), cerium (Ce), praseodymium (Pr), neodymium (Nd), promethium (Pm), samarium (Sm), europium (Eu), gadolinium (Gd), terbium (Tb), dysprosium (Dy), holmium (Ho), erbium (Er), thulium (Tm), ytterbium (Yb), lutecium (Lu), as well as scandium (Sc) and yttrium(Y) that are closely related to lanthanum (La).
Currently, there are near 170 enterprises engaging in rare earth ore exploitation, smelting and separation in China. In 2009, the production of rare earth products in China was 129,400 tons (calculated by rare earth oxide), rising by 3.94% YOY. China’s rare earth resources account for about 30% in the world. However, about 95% of the rare earth products in the world are produced and supplied by China. In the 1980s, the rare earth smelting and separation technology popularized by the three state-owned rare earth factories in Baotou, Shanghai and Zhujiang spread over China rapidly. The production capacity of rare earth smelting and separation products also expanded swiftly, far exceeding the market demand and forming the situation of oversupply and low-price competition.
In the 1990s, China began the large-scale exploitation and export of rare earth. With low exploitation cost (ignoring the environment cost), China’s cheap rare earth dominates the world market. As a result, most other countries terminated the exploitation of rare earth.
Though China is a large rare earth producing country, the development of Chinese rare earth industry lags behind developed countries. Chinese rare earth enterprises mainly produce upstream and midstream products of low added value, high pollution and high energy consumption. They fall far behind developed countries in the production of downstream expensive rare earth devices and terminal application products.
Due to the extensive management of rare earth resource exploitation and scattered distribution of the rare earth industry, many foreign importers take this opportunity to force down the price. When the global demand for rare earth materials increases year by year, China exported 6,100 tons of medium-end and low-end rare earth products in 1990; the average price was 13,600 USD/ton. In 2009, China exported 36,100 tons of rare earth smelting and separation products, rising by 16.67% YOY. The export value amounted to USD 310 million and the average price was only 8,959 USD/ton.
Chinese government has begun to formulate the Access Conditions of Rare Earth Industry since 2009. In May 2010, the Access Conditions of Rare Earth Industry (Draft for Soliciting Opinions) was published.
In recent years, the concentration of Chinese rare earth industry is improved considerably. A number of large enterprises have set about the M&A of the rare earth industry. In July 2007, Aluminum Corporation of China merged China Rare Earth Exploitation Company and made the rare earth industry its development focus in the future. In June 2008, with the funds of CNY 430 million, Jiangxi Copper Corporation successfully won the mining right in Maoniuping rare-earth-element (REE) deposit, Sichuan. In August 2008, China Minmetals Corporation, Ganxian Hongjin Rare Earth Co., Ltd and Dingnan Dahua Advanced Material Resources Co., Ltd cofounded China Minmetals Rare Earth Co., Ltd.
China practices the quota license administration on the export of rare earth products since 1998. In recent years, Chinese government cuts down the volume of export enterprises, export quotas and annual exploitation volume of rare earth ores. China’s Ministry of Commerce declared that the total export quota of rare earth products of domestic-funded enterprises was 50,000 tons in 2005, 34,000 tons in 2008. In 2009, it set the total export quota of 50,145.1 tons for domestic-funded and foreign-funded enterprises. In 2010, it cuts down the export quota to 30,258 tons, including 22,512 tons for domestic-funded enterprises and 7,746 tons for foreign-funded enterprises. The reduction of the export quota leads to the rise of China’s rare earth smuggling.
Presently, the rare earth smelting and separation capacity of China is over 200,000 ton/year. In 2009, China’s rare earth production came to 129,400 tons and the global rare earth consumption was about 90,000 tons. It is forecast that the production is over 130,000 tons in 2010. It remains difficult to change the situation of oversupply. Though foreign countries enhance the rare earth exploration recently, it will not produce substantive influence on the supply in the rare earth market at present.
Neodymium iron boron permanent magnet is the leading product among rare earth magnetic materials. In 2009, the production of neodymium iron boron permanent magnet was 94,000 tons in China. Presently, besides the wide application in traditional sectors, some new application areas of neodymium iron boron, such as wind power, new energy vehicle, and energy-saving compressor are also emerging with the advent of the low-carbon economy era. With the development of new application areas, it is forecast that the global neodymium iron boron industry will maintain the growth rate of 15% in the coming five years, whereas Chinese neodymium iron boron industry will maintain the growth rate of 20%.
Rare earth is widely applied in traditional sectors (e.g. metallurgy, petro chemistry and textiles) and high-tech sectors (e.g. magnetic material, luminescent material and hydrogen storage material). With the advent of the low-carbon economy era, rare earth will encounter new development opportunities.
Presently, China’s production capacity of rare earth luminescent materials is about 10,000 tons. In 2009, China produced about 7,200 tons of rare earth fluorescent powder, ranking the world Top. The three-band fluorescent lamp (energy saving lamp) industry consumed 75% of rare earth luminescent materials as the major application area of luminescent materials. The three-band fluorescent lamp with the advantages of energy saving and long lifespan will gradually replace the incandescent lamp. In 2009, China produced over 3 billion three-band fluorescent lamps. If 80% of the incandescent lamps are replaced, 3 billion three-band fluorescent lamps will be needed every year. Hence, the annual demand for fluorescent powder is about 10,000 tons. By 2015, the total demand for three-band fluorescent powder will be about 60,000 tons.
In 2009, China produced 19,000 tons of rare earth hydrogen storage materials. They consumed 7,900 tons of rare earth, accounting for 11% of the total rare earth consumption. Rare earth hydrogen storage materials are major raw materials for the production of nickel-hydrogen battery. As nickel-hydrogen battery shows positive development prospects in the electric tool and electric vehicle sectors, it is forecast that China’s hybrid electric vehicle market will acquire explosive growth after 2010 and the annual growth rate will reach 12%.

The Humble Scientific Research Endeavor of Brahmavarchas Research Institute
Posted by: | CommentsAlmighty God has given man His very own form. From the standpoint of consciousness all those Divine Powers that the Creator (God) possesses are found in the deep recesses of the human psyche albeit in latent form. In this manner all the power and energy present in the macrocosm (cosmos) is present in the microcosm (human psyche). The microcosm is the smallest unit of the macrocosm. All functional aspects of the Solar System are found in its smallest unit i.e. the atom. The divine glory of God exists in individual souls. It is hence that man is called the “Prince” of God who is the “King” or ruler of this cosmos. Vedanta Philosophy very articulately proclaims that the living being (Jiva) and cosmic consciousness (God) are one i.e. non-dual or Advaita.
And yet the obvious question that needs to be answered is: If a creature and God are one how come such gigantic differences are seen between both? If indeed man is a “Prince” of that God who abounds with divine wealth, why is he (human being) so poor and weak? Great seers while answering this all important question opine that although it is true that man possesses all the divine glories of God, this divine wealth lies latent in his psyche/soul. It is like a seed that contains an entire tree or that a locked vault contains untold precious jewels. Thus the locked vault of Divine Powers in man’s psyche needs to be opened via the ‘key’ of intense spiritual efforts (Sadhana). Spiritual practices are called Sadhana and they reap rich dividends on the basis of apt psychic credentials (Paatrata) and ethics in ones day to day life. It is only when man passes this most important test that he can become a master of the divine wealth of the cosmos. The principle of “Sadhana say Sidhi” or “Attaining the goal via spiritual endeavor” is well known. The philosophy of spiritual endeavor is equivalent to scientific inventions and discoveries. Today man with his intense efforts and sharp intellect has unearthed many material powers via scientific research. Great scientific endeavors have today given us material energy tapped from sources like steam, radio, atom etc.
The human body is like an infinite storehouse of precious jewels i.e. divine wealth. If only via spiritual practices man awakens this divine glory all those Divine Powers attained by Rishis, saints, seers of yore and today can be attained by him too. Sadhana is nothing but awakening the latent divine potentials that lie untapped in the deep cave of man’s psyche and soul.
Human existence can be called an all encompassing scientific laboratory. The human body enfolds all powers/energies of nature albeit in seed form. Human consciousness harbors in seed form God’s unlimited divine consciousness. In order to attain cosmic consciousness those efforts are required akin to first sowing a seed in fertile soil, watering it and helping it bloom forth like a skillful gardener who looks after his various plants and trees. Although the atom possesses infinite potent nuclear energy, it can be tapped only by adept scientists with their scientific tools. For a layman this task is well nigh impossible. In order that an embryo grows into a human baby (after the male’s sperm unites with the female’s ovum) it has to mature in its mother’s womb for 9 months on an average. This is called “Sadhana say Sidhi” i.e. “Making due efforts to attain the goal”. In order to become a scholar, wrestler, boxer, artist, scientist, businessman etc intense efforts are required. In the same way if one desires to awaken latent Divine Powers in ones soul intense efforts are required (Sadhana) so as to witness miraculous results. Soul advancement spiritual practices are termed as high stature endeavors.
Spiritual practices are a science by themselves. One requires aid of spiritual philosophy so as to make sacred and pure ones inner sentiments, beliefs, aspirations and thinking. This is also called Jnana Yoga or Yoga of Wisdom. Hence one needs to pursue mental reflection, meditation, concentration etc. An all round progress can be achieved by associating with realized saints, seers and studying sacred scriptures with deep devotion. To put this in a nutshell this itself is Spiritual Philosophy or the Yoga of Wisdom. Within it predominantly the principle of mental reflection in a focused manner is deployed.
The other important leg of spiritual endeavor is Kriya Yoga wherein physical or bodily movements too are taken recourse to. It encompasses Asan (posture), Pranayam, Bandha, Mudra, vows, fasts, pilgrimages, Mantra chanting or Japa, Yajna or fire sacrifices etc. Thus true spiritual endeavor revolves around both, Dhyana Yoga or Meditation and Kriya Yoga (includes Hatha Yoga too).
There was a time centuries back that like Modern Science of today, Spiritual Sciences ruled the roost. In it within the laboratory of the human body Divine Powers were manifested in the individual’s body. These benefits were termed Sidhis by seers of yore. As against this Ridhis are psychic and sentimental glories attained via purification of ones consciousness and psyche. In ancient times spiritual seekers who underwent spiritual practices attained both Ridhis and Sidhis. If one compares the benefits attained by today’s modern scientific research they significantly pale in front of the achievements of spiritual seers of ancient times. The laboratory of Spiritual Science is the human body and hence it does not require external apparatus like fuel, technology, chemicals and other apparatus used in a modern science laboratory. And yet despite being so priceless Spiritual Science it can easily be availed of by entire world humanity. It is a divine gift of God and that indeed is man’s good fortune.
Spiritual endeavor is said to be supreme amongst all human endeavors. It is a means via which man can attain both material and spiritual benefits. In the Sadhana Age or the Era of Spiritual Practices, Spiritual Science was in full vogue and very well imbibed the world over. There was both zeal and zest in that era. But alas! Today man is full of greed, envy and avarice. An externalized mind seeks joy and glory in external objects. Today because of a maddening fast life none has the time to self introspect and discover the untold divine wealth lying hidden in the cave of his/her psyche. Man just refuses to give up his lustful, indolent and sensual life and thus master his mind so as to attain the greatness attained by seers and Rishis of ancient times. On the one hand a major chunk of world humanity erroneously discarded this profound science and hence simultaneously the number of great seers and sages of spiritual sciences too diminished drastically. If demand depletes the number of ‘buyers’ decrease and hence the number of ‘sellers’ too decrease in tandem. At present in the name of “Yoga” deluded concepts have come into vogue (blind leading the blind). No doubt one finds hordes of so called “Yoga Gurus” who sell fantastic dreams to gullible aspirants. The latter just have no clue whether their teacher is genuine or fake. As a result the number of genuine Yoga Gurus and Preceptors who are the only ones who can help laymen reach their spiritual destination is dangerously declining as days pass by. That Great Spiritual Science has been replaced by nothing but vain deluded proclamations akin to a peg of alcohol. Today in the name of spiritual practice mere lip service is being doled out to a large number of gullible people. And hence both the layman and intellectual class harbor aversion for it.
Today we realize that the need of the hour is to research into the ancient Spiritual Sciences in a modern scientific manner and thus understand its aptness, true state and form. This is the way we can transform atheism into theism. Since Spiritual Sciences are infinitely more potent and beneficial than Material Science, it should not lie in a hapless ruined state as is seen today. In order to solve this problem once and for all we have established the Brahmavarchas Research Institute. Within its realm the human body is looked upon as a laboratory and intense efforts are being made to manifest Divine Powers that so far existed latently in man’s psyche. For this it was most required that in this modern scientific age necessary proof be made available to the highly intellectual class of world humanity. Only then will even the layman accept its true credentials and imbibe them wholeheartedly.
The Spiritual Science of the area of consciousness is called Super Divine Wisdom Gayatri (Mahaprajna Gayatri). That science which influences material nature (Prakriti) is called Agnihotra. Both are mutually conjoined to one another as a pair. Both are mutually dependent on one another. Agnihotra is most required for ripening and manifesting man’s conscious potentials. It is like exposing bricks into a furnace for toughening them up or like making our speech more audible by using a microphone. When fire and water unite steam manifests which is used to run trains. Programs heard on radios mainly use electrical energy. Similarly within the realm of spiritual practices (Sadhana) Gayatri manifests via the combination of sentimental consciousness and word power (Shabda Shakti). This Gayatri is hence made more prolific via the divine energy of Agnihotra. Gayatri symbolizes Yoga of Sacred Sentiments and Agnihotra symbolizes Kriya Yoga. Gayatri and Yajna are said to be the Mother and Father of Indian culture. Within the field of spiritual endeavor they are compared to Prana (Vital Force) and the physical body. The first step of transformation and purification of the psyche and body is development of a pious character and ethical dealings in ones day to day social and professional life. It is only then that one can enter the portals of spiritual practices.
The Brahmavarchas Research Institute is targeting its research on those areas that are related to the goals of various spiritual practices. We are trying to prove that Gayatri Mantra Word Power is not some ordinary ‘mutterings’ and that it instead activates via incitement our conscious arena. Which precepts are involved in radiating our character and personality and how does it influence the environment? This is being seriously studied at the Brahmavarchas Research Institute. Word Power is an intense and terrific form of divine energy. Various creatures inwardly contact one another with its help. It is the fount of spiritual wisdom and modern scientific laws. Thus we must deeply understand that Mantra Power can be used optimally in ones self/soul unfolding, for helping in others advancement and transforming both the gross and subtle atmosphere of the world in a very positive manner.
Another major research area dealt with by the Brahmavarchas Research Institute is the mysteries of the Science of Mantra Chanting called Japa. Over here we are mainly concentrating on Super Mantra Gayatri. Very advanced scientific technical apparatus is being used in or hi-fi laboratory to analyze the potential of Word Power while chanting Mantras. When we hold spiritual camps for our devotees we also scientifically study the results of Mantras chanted by them. So far the results indicate that Mantra Energy is n-fold more powerful than Yantra Energy (machines and technology).
It is erroneous to believe that Agnihotra is simply a lit pyre of fire. Instead know for sure that it is our Vital Force that manifests a ‘divine fire’. In that not only are divine herbs made more subtle that influence a vast area but that the devotees’ Mantra Power sanctifies and makes more powerful their Vital Force energy (Prana Urja). Hence its widespread influence is indeed gigantic and cosmic in nature. Great seers of yore proclaim in one voice that Yajnas improve our physical health, purify our will power and augment divinity in our soul force. Hence they are said to be priceless means of remedial measures and ones all round progress. Further global pollution which is cause for serious concern all over the world can be greatly warded off via Yajnas and Mantra Chanting. It is strongly believed that rains can be invoked via Yajnas. It is prudent to note that over here ‘rains’ does not simply mean monsoon season but that the cosmic vital energy ‘rains’ on Earth so as to add more vim and vigor in our plant life, other creatures and of course human beings too.
If we make intense efforts to understand the true utility of the above benefits and thus make optimal and apt use of them a bright future is in the offing for world humanity and thus various problems faced by us can be easily overcome. In this manner the Brahmavarchas Research Institute of Shantikunj (Haridwar, Uttaranchal, India) is scientifically studying all the principles and tenets that are the foundation stones of the Science of Sadhana (spiritual practices). The progress attained via Spiritual Sciences should no way be looked upon as superficial in comparison to the advancement attained via Modern Material Science. Apart from Gayatri and Agnihotra, Spiritual Camps organized by us deals with other forms of spiritual practices too. Its results are being minutely noted via scientific experimentation techniques. When spiritual seekers are made to undergo high leveled spiritual practices of Brahmavarchas not only is their initial and final inner state is noted but that the high-low and pendulum-like state that they go through in between too is being focused on deeply. It is only then that we can truly understand the important basis of Soul Science, the method of spiritual endeavor and the underlying principle behind it. In this computer age of “I believe only that which I perceive with my 5 senses” it is most required that we prove beyond doubt to both, the laymen and highly intellectual class, the importance of both material and spiritual tenets. This is exactly the task taken up on a war footing by the Brahmavarchas Research Institute.
The most important aspect of Mysticism is to understand deeply the benefits of interstellar space radiations and other potentials on our planet Earth and that along with staving off side effects we make optimum gains with its aid. Keeping this in mind a laboratory has been set up at Shantikunj to study and note interstellar space movements and states. On the basis of these calculations and other mathematical calculations a new Panchang shall be published. In that not only the planets discovered by ancient seers but those discovered by modern science like Uranus, Neptune and Pluto too will be dealt with. It will encompass Panchangs of various regions and method of making a Kundli (horoscope) of a person born in a particular place. Greater emphasis is being laid on the influence of interstellar space emissions on the Earth’s atmosphere and all creatures dwelling on it. On the basis of this finding we can find methods of balancing varied circumstances that visit our daily life. Today Astrology is called ‘blind belief’ but with our systematic scientific analysis this will not be the case in the coming years. It is certainly not an overstatement if we call this the total transformation of Astrological Sciences.
The Brahmavarchas Research Institute’s endeavor is extremely priceless from the standpoint of elucidating the true nature of Spiritual Sciences and Spiritual Practices (Sadhana Vijnana). Only time will tell us as to how our sacred endeavor results in great service to world beings for their material and spiritual unfolding.
