Solar Maasai is a new documentary from Stephen Gillis (This Wrestling Life, 2010) that follows a team of solar engineers to the small rural Massai village of Emprukel, Kenya. Here they teach the local students and together install the village’s first solar power system in the children’s schoolhouse. Ushering in a new era for the village and all of rural Kenya where children will grow up with light at the school and light at home in the nighttime. This important film follows all the trails and tribulations the team faces when bringing the gift of light to Emprukel.
