is this sun flare the cause of the earthquake in Japan? i am just asking.
it might have disturbed the magnetic field in the earth’s core which could have energized the magma underneath the earth’s surface.

I can remember seeing LOTs of flares in the 70′s, in fact I bought a pair as well, and still have them, and like me they’re tight.
But seriously I think were gonna get a few of these, and I’ve booked a flight from EMA to look at the Northern Lights in March, so I hope to see something that night.

These flares to what i herd of them are nothing to worry about just minor. But the sun is coming back to life again after being very quiet. Its gooing into its 11th cycle so the sun will be very active in the next couple of years 2012-2013 solar maxinum which will apretley hit the earth and that could be something to worry about.

@Gromitdog1 good comment, but if I remember my physics reading, seeing the solar flare from here on earth would take about 8 minutes to be viewed (photons of light reaching earth), but the magnetic waves that would potentially cause the problems travel slower than light, therefore taking longer to reach the earth then the visual phenomenon.

Its been playing up again last few days and looks like it could be a new swarm. Also have you noticed the timmings of the quakes?? Seems like its happening at the same time every day. Im wondering if its linked.

M6.6 is like a magnitude 3 earthquake. nothing to worry about to us normal everyday humans. But it could effect satellites etc etc.
The scary part is the signal this sunspot gives us, out of the solar minimum into the maximum and this cycle is meant to be a bumpy one.

I think they have two satellites on each side of the sun and it let’s them have a one hour notice before we get hit by them but Iam not shure how it works

my question is how if light travels at the speed of light does nasa know anything in advance about the sun? Did the call the psychic friends network?
