Yes, I am. This is a common effect on SOHO cameras that happens on a daily basis. Not necessarily in this exact shape, but I’ve seen plenty of other videos like this one, all with similar glitches claiming that this is something extraordinary when it isn’t.

This happens when cosmic rays overload the CCDs with electrons. Pixels can only take so many of them before they bleed into the rest of the picture. Simple.
