Desolate is the best word to describe Arabia in the years before the prophet’s birth. Although civilization made its début along the only portion of Arabia that doesn’t touch the sea, for thirty-five centuries it failed to take root in the desert sands. In the east lay Mesopotamia, the fertile land between the Tigris and Euphrates. Its legendary cities invented the tool that binds you and me, reader and writer: man’s greatest invention, written language. Nearly five thousand years ago the Sumerians, Babylonians, and Assyrians used cuneiform to proclaim their achievements in science, math, astronomy, law, medicine, agriculture, architecture, the arts, and religion. Yet while these advances were occurring, Arabia remained isolated and stagnant – providing the culture necessary to propagate Islam. Poverty in proximity to greatness makes a people vulnerable to deceit. While we stand upon the shoulders of the Babylonian, Assyrian, and Sumerian scholars, we are haunted by their faith. Two politically-minded doctrines grew out of its schemes – Medieval Catholicism and fundamental Islam. For a thousand years the most powerful forces were not nations but religions. Both deployed rites first practiced in Babylonian temples. Many Catholic symbols, festivals, and doctrines are rooted in the practices of these distant peoples. Christmas, Easter, Lent, the priesthood, confession, and the worship of the Virgin Mary are examples of present rites borrowed from a pagan past. Islam was not …
Albany Wind Farm, Western Australia
By · Comments
Albany wind farm is approximately 12km south-west of the city centre. It is in an elevated position approximately 80m above the Southern Ocean. This height, proximity to the coastline and small distance to the main electricity transmission system make this an exceptional wind farm site. The Albany wind farm consists of twelve 1800kW wind turbines connected to the Albany electrical system and control network. The turbines are ENERCON E66 machines from Germany and were installed by Enercon Power Corporation, an Australian Company. The turbines have a 65m tower and three 35m long blades, making them one of the biggest available in the world at that time, and the largest to be installed in the southern hemisphere. The turbines operate automatically, with the three blades adjusted to maximise power output from any wind direction or strength. They have been designed to withstand the strongest winds likely in Albany and incorporate special lightning protection. The Albany Wind Farm, which officially opened in October 2001, was ten years in the planning. The wind turbines do not have gearboxes, which helps keep maintenance to a minimum. The turbine operates at variable speed, which means that the blades speed up and slow down with the wind. The blades move very slowly reaching a top speed of 22 RPM in the strongest of winds (which is only one revolution every three seconds). In an average year the wind farm produces about 77000000 units of electricity, though this does vary …

CONTRAILS vs CHEMTRAILS It is important to distinguish between contrails and chemtrails. Contrails are streaks of condensed water vapor created in the air by jet airplanes at high altitudes. Contrails can exist in two forms: water droplet and ice crystal. Contrails typically become visible about a wingspans distance behind an aircraft flying at high altitude. The trail dissipates quite quickly, usually within a minute or so. Chemtrails, on the other hand, are visible directly behind an aircraft, with little or no gap between the aircraft and the start of the trail. Chemtrails are said to vary from contrails in their length of persistence. Chemtrails do not dissipate quickly; they tend to form into mushy clouds which can block sunlight. Some people are reporting what they describe to be unusual activity in the sky, including jets leaving trails at low altitudes, spray lines creating X’s, S’s and parallel lines, lines that slowly spread to create a canopy of haze, and reports of unusual smells, tastes, and even illness related to the trails. Also, a reddish-brown gel, dropped from low-flying aircraft, has been observed by people in the past and was even documented on Unsolved Mysteries. Samples of this substance have been alledgedly analyzed by Margareta-Erminia Cassani and found to be teaming with biological organisms. Other tests have shown that chemtrails contain more than 3 times the legal level of the toxic substance, barium. Chemtrails may also be one of the primary …

Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku – Part 4
By · Comments
Now that we’re done with the quests in the previous area, we can finally fight Raditz and save Gohan. Come to think of it, wasn’t Piccolo going to help us defeat Raditz? Oh, nevermind, he’s just standing there waiting for you to kick his ass, so he can use his Special Beam Cannon when Goku grabs Raditz. Raditz isn’t hard at all. Especially if you take advantage of Solar Flare. It stuns the enemy for a short amount of time, depending on how long you’ve charged it. It’s a very effective way to kill enemies in this game. The only thing that’s hard about Raditz is that he can take 1/4 of your health bar, or in worst cases 1/2 of your health. But doesn’t almost any enemy in this game do that? After you’ve defeated Raditz, Piccolo will finally take action and use his Special Beam Cannon, killing Raditz and Goku as well. Now that we’re dead, we hear that there are 2 more Saiyans coming to earth, and apparently they’re even stronger than Raditz. Now, we have to walk to the end of Snakeway in order to get to train with King Kai. Sounds pretty much like the basic story, eh? But then you meet Princess Snake in the middle of nowhere, who wants to eat you. She’s about the same as Raditz, only slower. The same strategy applies here. And then, for some reason, Goku loses his balance and falls down to HFIL. However, the picture says other things… Guess what we have to do in HFIL? Collect spirits and bring them back to some guy for no apparent reason. Oh, and another quest with the red …
