NASA Response to Crazy 2012 Claims

NASA JPL “Reality Check” on all those wacky ideas surrounding the upcoming shift in the ancient Mayan calendar. Our favorite is the planet “Nibiru” that’s said to be hurtling into the solar system on its way to Earth.

@FallenFaith1 Did you REALLY just bring up the same issues on Googly Sky and Geomagnetic Reversal on the video featuring Morrison? Fine, my answers are there.
So do you imply that because the could not produce physical calendars out to infinity, this proves they accurately predict doomsday? That is ridiculous, and says the logic of how the calendar works should simply be ignored. By the same logic, every calendar system no longer in use has called for a doomsday, and it didn’t happen.

@FallenFaith1 They can’t cover anything up because 95% of astronomers don’t even work for NASA. so I don’t understand the “never a straight answer” when astronomers as well as amateur astronomers post the dangers from impactors. If you think NASA has a monopoly in space, your wrong. NASA does not cover anything. If you understand the concept behind astronomers and amateurs you would understand that most astronomers don’t work for NASA. so I suggest you get your facts straight and grow a brain

@FallenFaith1 Let me answer those questions. (I’m a PhD in astrophysics) (1) Nibiru is not blacked out by anybody on google planets or google sky. If Nibiru were real I’d see it with the naked eye and we’d be experiencing gravitational changes. we aren’t. (2) the new calendar isn’t new. It just starts over. Like ours. answer this. where’s the new calendar that ends in december 31, 2011. (same thing) (3) Nasa stands for National Aeronautic Space Administration. (continued)

It’s pretty sad when you type ” NASA ” into YouTubes search bar the second selection in the drop down box is ” NASA 2012 “.
It’s no wonder David Morrison from NASA’s ” Ask an Astrobiologist ” forum grows weary of answering questions pertaining to 2012.
Too many people bothering him with questions that they themselves could find the answers to if they merely took the time to conduct proper research versus buying into bullshit .

@Kostly actually my point was that, if something like that would happen, the last thing goverment would do is to warn us… madness? this is sparta! no but really, “if ” the end of the world is coming, there is nothing that can help us, maybe we can prevent it if and only if it will be caused by global warming haha… but hey who gives a damn.. we should just live our lives, not run around in panic haha ))

@Karlemids So at what time point, exactly, did Yeomans claim the earth was ‘completely safe’? You claim he said EXACTLY that.
I’m all for research. But look at sourcing, always. And never forget: He who makes the positive claim has the burden of proof. The 2012 crowd has to prove their case, step by step, with real evidence from current science and without using logical fallacies.
Example: Claiming something is a ‘psyop’ without evidence is meaningless.

@earthlyinfodotcom “NASA 2012 WARNING” is based on a 2006 prediction and replaced by the much more sedate 2009 warning.
The earth has problems, but you’re not showing that any of them come from this dreaded 2012. The most amusing is ‘unrest is building’. Clearly that is a human factor.
As for the ancient civilizations, if you want to say they had advanced more cosmology than us, you might want to give evidence for this. Extra claims require extraordinary evidence. (Carl Sagan)

okay, now search “NASA 2012 WARNING” and you will see the contradiction. There are lots of PHD’s out there who will attest to the fact that the earth is in a dire state, weather is becoming more severe and unrest is building… would you not at least agree to this as well? You don’t have to “believe” anyone, look around you. Mayan, Hopi, Australian Aboriginal, Navajo, all followed the cycles of nature and had just as accurate of understanding of cosmology as we do currently, some more advance
