Make a Solar Powered Charger

By

Get the shirts: bit.ly Facebook: facebook.com Buy a solar panel here: amzn.to For this to work you will need a 6v Solar Panel and a Female USB connector. Solder the USB connector to the negative and positive contact points on the Solar Panel and you are ready to go. It is really that simple. You may not want to leave the phone or Mp3 player plugged in at night because the power may drain out of the phone when no light is present. This is because we did not regulate the current of power. See you soon!

@oddy128 I have the same problem.

The capacitive voltage sensor on the USB wire isn’t that hard to find. When you open it up, just choose the black and yellow wires. If you don’t see these wires, you have a type-c USB wire, that has a alternating current voltage sensor instead of the capacitive one that you need. Be sure to ask for a type-c cable when buying USB wires!

6 volts make ipod go boom (no seriously)

If i stuck a diode between the solar panel and the usb cable, would that stop the drain of power?

Get and meet be naughty female benaughtyman.info

i bought a solar panel form radio shack thats was rated for 6v and 50mA. I hooked everything up and got a fluke meter and was getting 5.94V when i placed the panel in the sun and hooked my iphone and it didnt work, so i read into the mA it needs to charge the iphone and it needs between 100mA and 500mA. I got the volts i needed but not the mA

@oddy128 the outer 2 pins from the connector are the power pins. use a resistance meter (usually equipped in a volt meter) to determine which wire leads to the right pin.

@Householdhacker My female usb has 4 prongs!! What do i do?!?

Look up nurdrage. He has a video on how to make a solar panel using raspberries. Yes, raspberries. Don’t ask just watch.

13

what is the song

14

WERE CAN I GET ON OF THOSE FEMALE USB CONNECTOR

15

@oddy128 you only use the ones on the sides, not the middle

16

@TheA1spartan depending on what you’re using youd need a different panel, if you try using a 12v with an ipod you’ll probably end up frying the battery, from what ive seen most if not all ipod chargers use 5v and most mobile devices should only go to 9v at the most

17

@cosmicalian YEA 110V XD

18

U should sell these. But with a greater volt power

19

I have black , red , white, and green cables inside of the female cable? Should I use the black and red standard. Though it didn’t work. work for me. :(

20

nice, but one problem it’s gonna take very very long to charge something since it puts out 50 mA(on a nice day) and my cellphone charger puts out 400 mA and its not like i have a power heavy phone (LG KS360) so it takes 8 times longer so 2 hours charge time instead of 15min…. But still it’s a nice concept and better than nothing =D

21

@LILE676 pretty much the link he gives you is the cheapest it gets

22

@Giomation no just unsolder the cables (just heat it up again and it melts) and switch it around

23

@crazyvinni1 you buy a female USB socket. Just a cable won’t have it.

24

@oddy128 they will all have that, you have to buy a female USB socket. They have them at radio shack. Don’t let them tell you they don’t carry them because they do. They might not have it in stock though. The box was green I believe.

25

does it work with an itouch too?
