Third train in the parade at switch nine was the GrandLuxe/American Orient Express passenger train. It is on a tour of the Rockies, Sierras and Napa from Denver to San Francisco and back. CARS WERE: AMTK 114-183-081-Los Angeles-Yellowstone Park-Grand Canyon-Monterey-Vienna-Monte Carlo-Bar Harbor-Santa Fe-Charleston-Rocky Mountain-Chicago-Zurich-Copper Canyon(dome)-Seattle-Portland-Washington-Denver- Paris-Montreal-Savannah-New York

Sad that this fine train is now no more. After the American Orient Express’s owners sold the business to Grandluxe, it was downhill to a shutdown. Hopefully this service will return again someday.

Nice video. I posted a new GrandLuxe video 3 days ago, but it still doesn’t come up on a search. Do you know how long it takes for the Search engine to pull my stuff up. I’m going to be adding a bunch of new video soon.

The diner appeared to be nearly full with the lunch crowd. There were people in other cars, but most had the shades drawn so I don’t know.

Were there enough passengers to fill 20 cars?

Nice. I shot vid of the westbound Grandluxe passing through Painted Rock, Nevada few weeks before you shot this vid. When I shot it, it got into Reno nearly 3 hours late.
