“Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer)” is a song by Freemasons and Sophie Ellis-Bextor for Freemasons’ second studio album Shakedown 2, released on June 22, 2009. The song was uploaded to Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s official MySpace page on June 2, 2008. It was announced on February 22, 2009 that “Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer)” would be released as the Freemasons’ new single. The song was premiered on BBC Radio 1′s The Scott Mills Show on April 24, 2009. The song has been added to its B List in June 17. Freemasons promoted the single in the United States, as they did on May 2, 2009 at the Town Club in Washington DC. The single has been added to the A-list on Galaxy FM, the A-list on Kiss and BBC Radio 1 B-list. Also, it has reached #1 on the Cool Cuts Chart. The single also reached #1 on the MTV Dance Chart, becoming a smash hit, where it’s sitting at the top position for thirteen consecutive weeks. The single peaked at #9 on the MTV TMF UK Chart.
