Description:

An oil tanker exploded on the Don River in the southern Russian region of Rostov on Sunday, killing one person and injuring two others, news agencies reported. The blast occurred when the tanker was pumping oil from another ship at Bagayevskaya village, causing a fire on both vessels and sinking the tanker. The 70-meter-long vessel, designed for pumping oil from passing ships, arrived at the village at 03:55 p.m. Moscow time (1155 GMT). Currently, firefighters are trying to contain the blaze on the neighboring vessel, and protective measures have been adopted to prevent oil spilling into the river, according to local law enforcement.
