I built this rocket and it was easy to build and I loved the design of it. Unfortunately the flight performance left something to be desired. By the way, the motors I used were the recommended motors.
I flew this rocket twice. First on a B6-0/A10-3T combo – perfect flight. Second flight, C6-0/A10-3T combo – a total disaster. The rocket took off and went horizontal and was pointed nose down when staging occurred and the resulting crash damaged the sustainer beyond repair.
I loved the design but the poor flight performance on the second flight was a total disappointment hence the low rating.
EDIT: Estes just sent me a brand new one, free of charge. I’ll rebuild it and see what happens. If this one flies successfully, I’ll adjust my rating.
Rating: 3 / 5
