Most of us will die of old age.
Why are ancient astronomers more respected than modern day astronomers?

Planet X is a myth.
It was initially used as a hypothetical planet that would solve the irregular orbits of Uranus and Neptune; however, these have since been solved. The mass of Neptune was lower than initially calculated, and this discrepancy was the cause of the irregularities.
The other Planet X, Nibiru, is fictional. It is claimed to be over a light year away, but that would mean that it has to travel at about 1/4th the speed of light to hit us in time. There are two problems with this theory: 1/ So much can get in the way to deflect it, so how do people know it will strike us? and 2/ At such speeds, solid bodies would tear themselves apart due to friction, so it would just provide a magnificent meteor shower.

No were not going to die. Besides if something major were to happen it would probable happen so quickly that we wouldn’t even know what hit us. I’m not worried about it!

Planet X has been proposed for decades. It was finally discovered recently, and all that was made from that discovery was that it was a “planetoid”, and in fact, so was Pluto!

So much misinformation, I’m not entirely sure where to begin.
2012, for whatever reason, seems to be the most popular modern doomsday hoax.
I think Jose Arguelles, Nancy Lieder, Mark Hazelton, Zecheriah Sitchin, and the producers of 2012 programming and the ownership of the History Channel all throw parties together and laugh at all the “fools” who continue to make them wealthy.
Okay, maybe not Sitchin. He’s way off base too, but from what I understand, “his” planet is not associated with 2012.
Planet X originally means any undiscovered planet, in our solar sytem.
Once upon a time, there appeared to be “problems” with Saturns orbit. It wasn’t always behaving as it should. It was almost as if, beyond Saturn, there was a massive object “tugging” on it via gravity.
Uranus was found, and deemed the “culprit” of Saturn’s perturbations.
But Uranus was perturbed as well.
Most interesting about this, is, some guys crunched the numbers, and determined where the mysterious “perturber” of Uranus’ orbit was suppossed to be. On the first night of looking, Neptune was discovered almost precisely where it was suppossed to be, given the numbers.
Uranus and Neptune still didn’t behave that well. Another “Planet X” was hypothesized. Pluto was found much differently, but it’s discovery as the “third” planet x of modern times seemed legitimate.
Uranus and Neptune were still a little bit off, however.
But, (and this is what the 2012ers almost always “forget” to tell you) when Voyager II flew by both of these planets, and the mass of each were more precisely calculated, we discovered that BOTH were behaving perfectly, under the new mathematical figures of each planets mass (both were originally approximated to be off by about a half of a percent).
So, not only is there no perturber of Uranus and Neptune, but, because of the IAU definition of “planet” even Pluto (a former planet x) is not a planet. A hypothetical planet with the orbital charachteristics that Niburu/Planet X is/are claimed to have, negates the possibility of its (their) existence.

It’s a Giant hoax. And i got the Amazing proof its a Hoax! Go to http://www.universetoday.com, Ian proves NOTHING will happen Unusual or Apocalyptic will happen. Go to the 2012 Category or go to http://www.dailycommonsense.com/
–Edit–
Just can you stop posting 2012 Threads on Yahoo answers. It’s irritating.
–Edit(Again–
Math is Incorrect. He says Theory. It’s actually a Hoax.

We aren’t going to die. Planet X has nothing to do with this. This is just Mayan miscalculation and Chinese theory.

Of course people will die on Dec 21 2012. People die every day. But it’s not going to be any more than an average die, unfortunately. Unless there are mass suicides in anticipation of Armageddon.
Did you hear about the Indian teenager who committed suicide “because of” the news reports of the Large Hadron Collider? I think suicides of the young and impressionable will be the biggest disaster on that date.
The planet X you are talking about is not real. There are no giant planets hurtling towards us. Who has the biggest telescope? Astronomers, or internet hoaxsters? So what do you think the ACTUAL evidence says? Who do you think you should believe when it comes to ROGUE PLANETS in the Solar System?
If you know a tiny bit, then what you know is from youtube videos, right? Try reading science magazines like Science or New Scientist, and see how many articles in there are about 2012. And there is a reason for that…

NO— right now there are MULTIPLE questions on the topic about 2012–
If there was a planet X due to crash into or pass close to the Earth we would already have seen it coming toward us in our telescopes.
This is a hoax— NO ONE can give you the exact sky coordinates for the so called Planet X.

no.
where do you find this garbage? what makes you think this?
