Millions of software engineers worked their arses off for years before Y2K SO THAT NOTHING WOULD HAPPEN. It cost us millions of dollars so that NOTHING WOULD HAPPEN. Holy crap some people are so damn STUPID!! Y2K was real, we did something about it, I know that we did because I was there, and WE STOPPED THE DISASTER. sigh, we could have stopped Katrina too, you have to prepare.

O.K…..so let me get this straight, NASA and NOAA have have now upgraded this big solar storm to start middle of this year(2011)…meaning, that’s starting in the middle of this year, but it will get worse next year(2012) and into 2013 & 14?
During this solar storm, after all three phases of this solar storm our electrical as well as electronic devices will be down for months maybe years…that’s a world wide communication breakdown and no transportation!?If Let’s all prepare now!?

its all good if you live like an amish, but for the rest of us, maybe it would be smart to buy a backup of your favorite electronic device “the ones you might actually need in the event of such a event” like a water pump or a small hand crank or peddle power generator etc etc.. then safeguard it inside a home made EMP sheild , you can make one with aluminum foil or copper foil or mesh with many plastic layers , a glass box covered in aluminum foil will also prevent solar EMP’s

The weakening magnetic field being hit by heighten solar storms is causing this weather, seismic activity and the deaths of the animals. Research it. Google it! Google “South Atlantic Anomaly” – It’s a 3000 mile hole in the magnetic field protecting earth. The earth is responding, trying to repair as this happens with eruptions from volcanoes. We have seen 5 erupt and several awaken in Jan alone. It will only get worse. Do your research!

The first physics-based space weather prediction model is transitioning from research into operation : Scientists affiliated with the National Science Foundation Center for Integrated Space Weather Modeling and the National Weather Service reported the news January 27th at the annual American Meteorological Society meeting in Seattle, Wash. The model will provide forecasters with a one-to-four day advance warning of high speed streams of solar plasma and Earth-directed coronal mass ejections.

I recon that the U.N / NASA should plan on doing a mission by collecting major and more important Satelites in space, so that they aren’t wiped out by the solar storm.. They put them out there, im sure they can get them back.??
So once its over, the Satelites can go back out to space, and we all can get back to reality with internet and tele, and cellphones and radios etc.. We’l all be smiling again =)

IF our tech civ were to end—unlimited number of people who make a difference in your life would be dead because the technological we have would be gone? What about the millions of just American babies who are born and might need a tech fix, without tech civ they would die…u want that on your head?
