Why should we be alone in this universe? Part I

Why should we be alone in this universe?

This is a major question that instigates thousands of other questions related to our lonely existence in a limitless universe. We are alone as inhabitants of this universe.

Research into the our universe shows no signs of life  detected other than our planet earth.

Samples of the earth of the moon were subject to analysis and scientists found out that there are similarities with the that of the earth, but no signs of life were found, i.e. carbon molecules.

Why should our planet earth produce life and so many varieties of different signs of life? Why should advanced explorations of the universe found no signs of life in other planets and other stars? Why should all other galaxies do not, so far indicate any life signs? Why should our planet earth have life and all others do not have life.

Why should there be on our planet two millions of animal species and millions of plant species? Why should there be on earth microscopic life dimensions and on other planets and stars no such life dimensions? Why should there on our planet earth elements, minerals and metals of all sorts and on other planets and stars there are no signs of these?

Why should there be conditions of life on earth and none on any other planet or star? No conditions of life were found yet despite the vast explorations and efforts of space findings?

Conditions of life are only limited to our planet earth.

Our planet earth is made in such a way that it rotates around its axis 1600 Km per hour, and being exposed to the sun, tilting few degrees to produce the four seasons.

Why should there be water of about 75% of the surface of the earth while the other 25% is solid earth?

In these questions there are prospects and place for fundamental and principle thoughts, reflections, feeling and investigation. In these questions there are enough food for human preoccupation and scientific as well as metaphysical thinking and exploration.

Our journey takes infinite episodes of reflection corresponding to our questions and our insatiable curiosity for knowledge, for discovering and finding out about reality and truth.

Being alone in this universe poses a challenge for everybody, scientists, philosophers and laymen. Everyone would like to know.

Since he first heralded our era of environmental collapse in 1989′s The End of Nature, Bill McKibben has raised a series of eloquent alarms. Grab A Copy Click hereIn Eaarth, he leads readers to the devastatingly comprehensive conclusion that we no longer inhabit the world in which we’ve flourished for most of human history: we’ve passed the tipping point for dramatic climate change, and even if we could stop emissions yesterday, our world will keep warming, triggering more extreme storms, droughts, and other erratic catastrophes, for centuries to come. This is not just our grandchildren’s problem, or our children’s–we’re living through the effects of climate change now, and it’s time for us to get creative about our survival. McKibben pulls no punches, and swaths of this book can feel bleak, but his dry wit and pragmatic optimism refuse to yield to despair. Focusing our attention on inspiring communities of “functional independence” arising around the world, he offers galvanizing possibilities for keeping our humanity intact as the world we’ve known breaks down.

The world as we know it has ended forever: that’s the melancholy message of this nonetheless cautiously optimistic assessment of the planet’s future by McKibben, whose The End of Nature first warned of global warming’s inevitable impact 20 years ago. Twelve books later, the committed environmentalist concedes that the earth has lost the climatic stability that marked all of human civilization. His litany of damage done by a carbon-fueled world economy is by now familiar: in some places rainfall is dramatically heavier, while Australia and the American Southwest face a permanent drought; polar ice is vanishing, glaciers everywhere are melting, typhoons and hurricanes are fiercer, and the oceans are more acidic; food yields are dropping as temperatures rise and mosquitoes in expanding tropical zones are delivering deadly disease to millions. McKibben’s prescription for coping on our new earth is to adopt maintenance as our mantra, to think locally not globally, and to learn to live lightly, carefully, gracefully—a glass-half-full attitude that might strike some as Pollyannaish or merely insufficient. But for others McKibben’s refusal to abandon hope may restore faith in the future.

The Late Great Planet Earth

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Hal Lindsey’s The Late Great Planet Earth is a landmark work, having sold millions of copies since its original publication almost forty years ago. Lindsey articulates a clear and concise roadmap for where the world is heading, using Old and New Testament Bible prophecies as the strength of his argument. The central belief put forth by Lindsey is that Jesus Christ is soon returning to earth, probably in this generation, and the Bible clearly states that certain events will foreshadow the Second Coming. First among these is the rebirth of Israel as a nation-state, an event predicted long ago by the Old Testament prophets. Jesus himself pointed this out as the seminal sign that his return was very near when he said, “Now learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its buds become tender and its leaves begin to sprout, you know without being told that summer is near. Just so, when you see the events I’ve described beginning to happen, you can know his return is very near, right at the door.” (Matthew 24:32-33). Throughout the Bible, the nation of Israel is often referred to symbolically as a fig tree.

Lindsey’s argument is straightforward. The prophets of the Bible predicted the rebirth of Israel in a single day. It happened (14 May 1948). The same prophets predicted Israel would again possess Jerusalem. That also happened (June 1967). So it makes sense to explore the other assertions made by those same prophets, such as the establishment of a Third Jewish Temple and the ascendance of a powerful individual who will shortly thereafter “rule over every tribe and people and language and nation” on the earth (Revelation 13:7). Lindsey explores the personality of this man, traditionally identified as the Antichrist, and also delves into prophecies of predicted political alliances and major end-times events.

Lindsey explains major end times prophetic events (such as the rebirth of Israel, the war of Gog, the revival of ancient Rome, and the ascendance of the Antichrist) in a contemporary language that anyone can understand. In fact, it’s a testament to the divine nature of bible prophecy that many of the events he covers have been partially fulfilled in the thirty plus years since (such as further unification of Europe into a powerful superstate). However, I have a problem with Chapter 12 “World War III”. Lindsey offers a confusing account of Armageddon that includes the Russian invasion of Israel (a pre-rapture event) and attributes many of the actions of the kings of the North and the South to the Antichrist and his contemporaries instead of historical figures such as Alexander the Great, his subsequent heirs, and Antiochus Epiphanes. Most of these references are drawn from misinterpretations of Daniel 11 and Ezekiel 38-39, and a better commentaries on these books can be found elsewhere.

Overall, this is a good book – although some of the more speculative parts are quite dated. My version is from 1993, and I don’t know if the book has been revised or not, but the speculative parts and statistics from the early 1970′s are few and far between. Most of the book focuses on scriptural prophecy, only commenting to inject clear references to the Biblical meaning of words and phrases. As such, The Late Great Planet Earth is a good starting point for those who wish to learn more about what the Bible has to say about humanity’s future. I recommend it to both beginning and expert students of bible prophecy.

This review of The Late Great Planet Earth by Hal Lindsey can be found on BrittGillette.Com, a website devoted to teaching about end times bible prophecy. Find articles on the rapture, the antichrist, the coming global government, and more.

The Return of Planet X, Part 2

Posted by: | Comments (25)

“The Return of Planet-X” is an educational, informational source examining all aspects of this controversial subject including the record of … all » X’s Ancient Science of Prophecy, its Phantom Astronomy, Forbidden Archeology and the Signs Of Its Approach. We begin with an Introductory Overview, “Earthwatch — The 21st Century and Beyond,” and end with its Epilogue, “Prelude to Our 2012 Planet-X Countdown.” It examines the history and prophecy of Earth’s many cultures throughout the millenia and their voluminous references to the reality of X’s periodic passages. The most current hypothesis we have to examine concerning X’s next return through the solar system centers around the fact that X’s extended orbit (approximately every 3600 years — first passing through the solar system then back out again), suggests that its ‘destructive cycle’ occurs in two phases. The ‘first phase’ begins with X’s ‘initial pass-through’ in 2009 separated by three years until its ‘second phase’ — wherein it makes its ‘second pass’ through the solar system in 2012. This passage marks X’s return leg back into deep space beginning again its 3600-year-long trek through the heavens. X’s last return visit through the solar system most likely coincided with the Hebrew’s exodus from Egypt estimated around 1447 BC — roughly 3459 years ago. Did God somehow come to Moses’ aid by staging a cosmic event that no one today understands? For some unknown and truly arcane reason the Mayan Celestial Calendar

What do John Wayne, Planet of the Apes, and 4-wheeling have in common? No, unfortunately a famous director is not currently planning to make a high-budget 4-wheeling movie and discover new talent. (Yet.)

But filmmakers have made famous the remote, 4-wheel trail-rich, Southern California scenery in box office hits. If you know where to look while exploring Southern California off-highway trails, you’ll recognize the horizon that Luke Skywalker scanned with his binoculars for R2D2 in Star Wars. Maybe one of the places where Tonto and Kemosabe fought for frontier justice in The Lone Ranger will seem familiar. Or you might recognize the one of the outer space scenes from The Twilight Zone.

Death Valley has been one area favored by film and TV directors for its landscape. More than 100 movies and TV shows have been set here since the 1920s, including Spartacus (1960), Star Wars, Episodes IV-VI (1980s), The Doors (1991), The Greatest Story Ever Told (1965), The Professionals (1966), The Twilight Zone (1959), and Ronald Reagan’s Death Valley Days (1950s). These films and shows used the popular shooting locations within Death Valley National Park: Badwater Basin (20 Mule Team, 1940), the Stovepipe Wells sand dunes (Greed, 1925, and Star Wars, 1977) Dante’s View (Star Wars, 1977), and Mushroom Rock Canyon (Star Wars, 1977). Trail riders will see all these locations navigating the trails in the Southern California guide. The book details more than 25 trails through scenery made famous by Hollywood.

Movies filmed on location in Death Valley are now rare due to the California Desert Protection Act passed in 1994. As a result, more movies are being shot in other areas of the Mojave Desert—on BLM land. The Trona Pinnacles, located about 22 miles east of Ridgecrest, is one such location. One trail in Backcountry Adventures: Southern California, Trona Pinnacles Trail traverses the ancient Searles Lakebed. The towering spires jutting up from the flat landscape developed from calcium carbonate deposits when the whole area was underwater.

The arid landscape that remains today has made the perfect setting science fiction movies and TV shows. Most recently the 2001 remake of Planet of the Apes, staring Mark Wahlberg, was set along this trail. Scenes from Star Trek V, The Final Frontier (1989), and the opening episode of the TV show Lost in Space were also filmed at this location. If you’re traveling in the area, beware of deep sand and wet conditions, which can impound even the most capable of 4-wheel vehicles. Stay off the paved road that crosses this trail; it is part of the China Lake Naval Weapons Center and has no public access. Spangler Hills OHV area, located at the end of this trail, has numerous trails and open areas to explore in any off-road rig.

The Alabama Hills, named by Confederate sympathizers during the Civil War, is another prominent filming location. Once a bustling mining area, this is the location of John Wayne’s last acting appearance in a 1979 commercial for Western Federal Savings and Loan. The low, rolling hills among dry, scrubby vegetation backed by the dramatic Sierra Nevada peaks make the perfect backdrop for cowboy and Indian shoot-outs, stagecoach robberies, and cattle mustering. John Wayne’s Westward Ho, William Boyd’s Hopalong Cassidy, along with The Lone Ranger, Gunga Din, Tremors, Star Trek V, and Joshua Tree are among the films and shows that have immortalized the Alabama Hills scenery.

Movie Flat Trail, 6 miles north of Lone Pine, crosses through traverses the Alabama Hills Recreation Area. East of the trail, the landscape is dominated by rock formations. Here explorers will find Gary Cooper Rock, Hopalong Cassidy Ambush Rock, Gene Autry Rock, and Lone Ranger Canyon. The Flats northwest of the trail set the scene for High Sierra (1942), Rawhide (1959-66), How the West was Won (1962), Gunga Din (1939), and many Roy Rogers films. More recent movies made in the Alabama Hills are Mel Gibson’s Maverick (1994), The Shadow (1993), staring Alec Baldwin, and Digital Man (1994). Scores of commercial interests from the big car companies to Apple computers to domestic beer companies have also used the landscape to persuade us to buy their products. Movies, television programs, and commercial are still actively shot in the Alabama Hills.

Just off Movie Flat Road, is an interesting spur to the remains of the Old Abe Mine. While an irresistible photo subject, use caution when exploring any mine ruins in the area. Old shafts and tunnels are deep and unstable and could give way at any time. At the south end of the trail, take the time to visit the bronze Movie Memorial. The trail ends at Whitney Portal Road with hiking access to the highest point in the contiguous United States, Mount Whitney (14,494 feet). Permits are required and reservations are essential.
