Stood Up on a Date? Not the End of the World!
Posted by: | CommentsBeing stood up on a date, whatever the reason may be is never fun any way you look at it. And no matter how easy those advice columns say, some things are really easier said than done. The term “moving on” has been considered like an ordinary venture for those who haven’t experience such an ordeal yet. But if we really get to know the true feelings of those who have taken the journey, we will be surprise to know that it has never been easy.
Before we really venture into moving on, let’s first know the reasons why certain guys stood up certain girls. There can actually be a million of reasons that include all or any of the following: something personal which is very important for them suddenly came up, the guy might probably be so nervous, or he didn’t care about the date at all, and didn’t even want the date to take place to begin with. Whatever the reason may be, the bottom line is that it is always awful. It has always been a devastating feeling for any woman out there.
But do not ever take it against you; there is nothing wrong with you, and whether the guys take this or not, it may just mean that there is definitely something wrong with the guy who asked you out in the first place. Ordinarily, if the guy meant well, he will call you and come up with all the excuses he can possibly think of. But then if he does not contact you within the day or after a day of your arranged date, then, it is 100% sure that he is trying to avoid you and do not want to have anything to do with you.
So your next question will be, what are you supposed to do next, right? Okay, here goes, in the first 30-45 minutes that he does not show up on the moment of your date, call him up. You know, for any reason like he might have forgotten about the date (he is memory-sick or something), or something came up that he can’t just leave behind. The usual, give him the chance. But if he did not answer your call on that very moment, more likely than not, he is intentionally avoiding you, and this, my friend, automatically means that you have to move on. Yes, hit the road; shake off the dust, and definitely MOVE ON!
Girl, forget about him. Because if he affords to stand you up and not even give you a few seconds of his time to tell you why, lady, he is not and never will be worth it. But like what has been said, it is not your fault. There is nothing wrong with you. Consider it as the loss of the guy who never even gets the slightest chance to try and meet the wonderful you. It was his loss, never yours. And give yourself a break. He is not the only fish in the ocean; for all you know there are others out there just waiting for your attention.
And it is not yet the end of the world for you to just mope around and slouch. Get on your feet and make this experience something positive for you. And the next time you agree on a date, consider the following suggestions:
1. Make sure that you choose a place that will work beneficial for you. Make sure that you choose a place according to your own terms, a place where you can do other things when, you know, the dreaded thing happen. So if the guy did not show up, at least you will not look like an idiot just waiting on your table. Make sure that you know the people in that place, so you’ll be able to have a chat with them like nothing awkward happened.
2. When you engage yourself on a date again, expect the worst. Not really the worst scenarios but expect that he will not show up. Sounds pessimistic, right? But that will somehow lessen the burden once he really did not show up. In this way, you will never be “that” disappointed. Don’t get all your hopes, and most especially, your dreams, high. So that if ever he did appear, then it would certainly be an elevating feeling.
Always think of that amazing saying-Never complain about something that you can not change using your ordinary human powers. No use in crying over the spilled milk; learn to let go because in the process you’ll learn to let others in. And you can also avoid being bitter, which will definitely not give you anything good in return.
