We came across this by accident on a drive home to Maryland from Chicago. We couldn’t believe how may there were. Really cool site and obviously good to see.

I was raised in Earl Park. In the 60s kids would ride bikes around this section. One evening we were on this road heading eastbound towards the cemeteries. It was uphill so we started walking our bikes. We saw it at the same time & looked at each other with our mouths open; something that looked around 6 tall & white float across the road from the Catholic cemetery to the public cemetery. We got to the cemeteries & looked everywhere for something but never found anything.

Just saw this wind farm for the first time driving up I-65. It was very impressive. I wasn’t aware that Indiana had a wind farm of this scale. I hope these kind of projects continue.

This group of 87 GE units are rated at 1.5 megawatts each which would produce a combined total of 130.5 megawatts. It is very windy here so they are running at least 95% of the time. Thank you for watching my video

Do you know how much power these generate collectively?

I want to ride my bike up there.
Duke Energy sells renewable energy credits. Effectively I’m buying electricity from Benton County, although I don’t know if the actual electricity gets all the way to Cincinnati. I’d expect Indianapolis to have first crack.

I have watched the transport of the turbine propellers and am so impressed with what Indiana has done. Conserve, protect, and innovate our Indiana environment.

The manufacturers have designed the turbines to withstand hurricane conditions and winds up to 172 mph.

I wonder how resistant they are to high winds

I think this video is inspiring. I gives one the felling that those entiered here are watching over future generations. I would like to think they see us as finally making the effort to secure future generations well being. I live in Indiana and plan on making a trip soon to see this sight. This and other new renewable sources of energy MUST be the wave of the future to secure the security and independence of coming generations.
Thank you for posting this.
