Airowgun Slingshot Mania

The Airowgun is originally a product made by a commercial company for regular bows. It allows to shoot .22 pellets instead of arrows, using an air compressor. The dowel replaces the arrow. I have built a custom made slingshot that propels the mechanism instead of a full size bow. making the weapon much more compact. This works fine, and the speed that is achievable is quite impressive. There is room for opitmization, which I may do in the near future. The setup is very stable and not dangerous. The video shows the mechanism and some shots, plus two super slomo scenes of the pellet leaving the muzzle (filmed at 1200 frames per second).

No, more like a blowgun, as it does not have a trigger and can not “store” energy.

for your grip next time try this white plastic called polymorph melts at 60 or 70 degrres so you can mould it by hand and when it hardens it just as strong as ABS

put the grip almost half way of the gun and attach a rest for your arm to stabilize it just like a sling shot it will be ten times easier to aim and will be mmore accurate

How about putting a grip in the middle of the gun, then have something to put on your lower arm as a guide. Maybe it wouldn’t wobble around that much then.

My suggestion would be to add a trigger operated mechanism and go for a crossbow like approach to improve accuracy. Cross-sling gun?

i think that if you were to make something for the bands to stay in place and put the grip in the front and turn it around the gun will be easier to control and better to aim with
