the world is not coming to an end in 2012 as muslim i can say this for sure because islam predicts certain events that will take place befor the day of judgement, but perhaps something will happen in 2012, in chapter 55 of quran it does say
55:35 There will be sent upon you a flame of fire and smoke, and you will not defend yourselves.
